  • Now that's having your crap together. Good job. You still have an 11 sec. pass in that thing with a little more practice.

My last time out I managed to rip off a 1.72 60' on my crappyass old Dunlops (225's) that the car came with. Next year with my Sumitomo's (275's in the rear and some susp. work) I'm hoping for a 1.50 60' and 1.5bar from 3rd gear to the end for a mid 10sec pass at 133ish.

11's so close you can smell them......nice.........

Hey Dan its John. Sweet time. I've got my GTR up and running again, next time you head to the track let Peter know and I'll make sure I'm there racing aswell. I'm going to throw on the DR's and see if I can crack 11's off the wastegate. PS I have all the parts for the stock transmission you sold me, all the gears bearings etc if you want them.

                  • My first time with the GTR at a drag strip. I went to the ST.thomas Dragway or some people call it sparta. Since it was my first time at the drag strip I was scared that if I did a hard launch I would break something. My first run I launched at 2500rpm (i know lol) Launching at 2500 got me a 15.80, Then I was talking to some other people and they said I should try 4-4500rpm launch. I tried that and my best time turned out to be:

                    Reaction: .6449
                    60 ft :2.1251
                    1/8 ET :9.5552
                    1/8 MPH :74.99
                    1/4 ET :14.6291
                    1/4 MPH :97.13

Could I have done better? I still have stock downpipes, Cat, 3in piping to the resonator then to the muffler. I was running stock boost and street tires.

I also raced a 92 RX-7 that had 3in turbo back, intercooler hard piping, apexi fc commander, 10psi boost. I bet him off the start all the way to the 1/8 then he just flew by. Here are the times:

                    Me HIM

                    .5669 reaction .7581
                    2.2968 60ft .2.4798
                    9.8909 1/8 ET 9.6928
                    75.50 1/8 MPH 78.70
                    15.00 1/4 ET 14.41
                    96.80 1/4 MPH 104.48

This was when I was scared to launch at higher rpm, So this was around 2500-3500rpm. Please let me know what I can do better on. Any tips would be great as well!.

i could have done alot better ..oh well mabe next time.
i launched the first time at 5g and got 15.1 (bogged)
second time i launched at 7g and got 15.0 (bogged harder & thought i was going to stall--lmao)
third time i launched like i was leaving red light 2.5g and got 14.9 (no bogging at all & hooked good)
...but my reaction times were so slow(next time im going to leave around 3g to 4g see what happenz)

                          • 1.8 is a slow 60' for a GTR. that's like a nice soft launch.

you should be in the 1.6 range with decent tires and with more power in the 1.4-1.5 range. I did a 1.52 on stock turbos with OLD CRAPPY R compounds that were 245/45/16.

                            • Yeh I was using some 245/xx/17's that day. Old hard re-01's that came with the car. Just put on 255/40/17 Starspecs. Now with my ems/meth looking to get a high 11.
