Yes, you should to avoid driveline shock and breaking something.

I have a one step, I just bounce her off of the 8400 rev limiter in the PowerFC and ride the clutch out of the hole. Best 60' was a 1.57 sec with the teeny tiny little factory 225's. With a 255/50r16 drag radial on the rear and my 245/45r17 street tires on the front (to save the front diff.) I should be in the low 1.40s next year. The drag radial will be about 1" taller than the fronts so it should work out pretty good going down the track. With the rears at about 20psi and the squat you will get from being under full power they should be only slightly smaller than the front (or even).

    Jon.

With launch control, don't you still have to engage the clutch a minimal amount to get the drivetrain engaged?

What's your launch secret ? Do you use launch control/ 2 step or slip the clutch while loading with the hand brake ?

No it is not. I have a few cars but this one is the best at the track. Hoping for real low 11's or high 10's next year.

Noobish question, but, does my reaction time play a factor if I'm trying to shave off my 60' time?

Okay this was my first ever time at the track and I know these numbers are really ugly, but here goes

    R/T - 0.820
    60' - 3.001
    1/4 - 14.120
    MPH - 106.54

A lot of people told me my car should easily be a 13 second car, so I'm hoping for improvement when I go for my second time!

Well, I guess we won't be going to the track anymore as our local track is closing for good.

    Run 1:
    r/t.......0.330
    60'......1.971
    330'....5.370
    1.8......7.936
    MPH....100.18
    1000'..10.028
    1/4......11.775
    MPH....128.66

    Run 2:
    r/t.......0.652
    60'......1.962
    330'....5.252
    1/8......7.730
    MPH....102.08
    1000'..9.812
    1/4.....11.552
    MPH....127.91

Still bogs really bad off the line. We need more seat time, even the driver has never launched an awd car before.

Thanks for the input man, it was my first time with the car at the track and other guys with gtr's were saying that 116mph was slow for my car, but for my first three runs in the car I was happy, also didn't lose to anybody all night, haha, my car is getting a new tune tomorrow and if the weather is good I'm going to be trying to improve my time on Friday or at least try improving on the launch and play with the tire pressure and possibly play with the torque split a bit. Again thnxs!
