" random highway stops"

i was wondering how many other RHD car have been pulled over this summer by opp
for a "random stop"
i was flowing with traffic on qew east bound about to hit the 427 ramp and from the the far left an opp flys across 4 lanes and gets behind me
i drop to the 80km ramp speed clear the ramp and get the cherrys
so i pull over as soon as physically possible
he greets me by name says im not in any trouble just a random stop
he noticed i have no steering wheel on the left and came over to have look
took my papers came back and asked i hit at least 90km before merging back into traffic

so he saw rhd and randomly pulled me over? sounds random to me

still the best night was getting stopped 3 times between youge st and hurontario in one drive 20 minutes

Other then a ridiculous unnecessary noice ticket, no but at least it sounds like he was a proper cop and not a turd.

3 times in one night? Do you drive an R32 by any chance?

Lol...im starting to have my suspicions (in two years I've been pulled over once leaving a mcdicks aka ticket but I'm wondering if they don't look at R33's the same.)

Wouldn't surprise me. The 33's tend to blend into traffic a little better with their more rounded shape, whereas the 32's are rather easy to spot. Sounds like a case of RHD-ism again...

both incidents I was in my impul R33-R i havent gotten pulled over yet in my r32 but i just got it so
i noticed when im alone or with my wife in passenger Ive been only stopped once
however my black friend with short dreads was with me on this 3 times in one night incident and one of my other "random" stops
i never get pulled over myself usually i think in the last 6 years when not in a skyline ive been stopped twice
both in niagara once for giving right of way to a cop (he saw it as suspicious)
and for 15km over on highway 58 thorold

it was his(the officers) comment"i noticed there wasnt a steering wheel on the left" that made me think they are "randomly stopping rhd's
i have a skyline barely on the road march till june and was stopped 5 times in the spring "just checking for insurance"
so im pretty sure theres a "operation" on rhd;s and insurance comfirmations / safety inspection so dont forget your documents

See, that's the part that gets me. Noticing there "isn't a steering wheel on the Left side" is not a valid reason to stop you. CLEARLY you have a steering wheel, or how the hell could you control the car. It's not illegal to have an RHD vehicle. So what does it matter?

In ontario cops no longer need a "valid reason" to pull anyone over, they can pull you over just cause there having a bad day..... although i did pull along side a cop once and he gave me a thumbs up... think he just liked the car

There's always going to be the cop "having a bad day" just looking for an excuse to ruin someone else's day. Like mentioned above, have all your **** in order an you got nothing to worry about. Here in Edmonton the EPS have a "**** list" of all the jdm's etc, so all they do is run your plate and if you're on the list, you get stopped. After my last stop in my Sentra SE-R Spec V Turbo, 90kph in a 60 (yes I know I'm a dumbass, lol) I'm pretty sure I made the list, I've had cops follow me from my work to my house which is a half hour drive.

Yea the intentional long tailing. Its so annoying, like either pull me over or get on with your life and do some real work. A private escort for one person just because they have a jdm car is a waste of money

Well, If you don't like them following you, you can always pull over and start talking on the phone.

Don't think there going to wait for you, unless they have a damn good reason.

Hell in Fredericton, I heard a while back that they where giving a free pizza to people that pulled
over to talk on there phone. Don't know how many pizza they gave away tho.

I have been pulled over twice now for my girlfriend being on the phone, cop walks up and says to my girlfriend "your not supposed to be talking on you cellphone while driving", girlfriend points to me and steering wheel. cop has stupid look on his face, he says "oh sorry, I saw you on the phone, didnt even notice this car was rhd." what an idiot. Got away free of charge both times obviously, with the cops feeling like total idiots.
