What I'm asking is, is the race damper only for 600+ or is it just better than the street no matter what your ouput is? I'd like the race damper so when I change turbines to larger ones (power is addicting) if I don't need to change the damper, I'm a few steps ahead.
    From what Ive heard...
Race version is hard on the ps pump and ac and even ati recommends the ac belt removed during tracking. Those reasons and my hp goals steer me to Street. Though these ati products are new to me, so i better start researching before payment day. My issue is I want to use this on a R33 N1 engine, that uses R32 acelleries and manifolds etc , Im not sure if I need the R32 or R33 ATI

I don`t care for the AC, but how is it hard on the PS pumpÉ Is the Pulley smallerÉ

Hey guys there seems to be a little confusion. This Group buy is not for ATI RACE pulleys, as those won't fit the stock serpentine belts. The group buy is for two models of the street pulley.

I'm not sure why anyone would think the pulley is hard on the PS pump as it is underdriving it. It may make your steering feel slightly heavier, but it won't damage the pump. The AC is 25% OD on one pulley model, so that would cause excess wear on the AC bearings (which is why they recommend removing the AC belt for continued excessive high revving...i.e. when racing).

          Up to 500HP Street Pulley:
All Pulleys are in OEM locations. Power steering pulley is 15% underdrive, alternator and water pump are 5% underdrive. A 10mm shorter belt is required for power steering pulley. I recommend using this with stock accessory pulleys or stock-size accessory pulleys as the PS/Alt/WP are already UD by the ATI crank pulley.

This pulley is designed to provide adequate damping for engines making up to 500HP. It can still be used on higher HP engines, but it will provide less damping effect as the power level climbs. If you will be making over 500HP now or in the forseable future, then consider the 600-1000HP version.

          600-1000HP Street Pulley:
Damper includes new aluminum water pump pulley for clearance. A/C belt is a 25% overdrive - DO NOT USE BELT IF RACING! 15% underdrive on power steering, OEM size on water pump. Remove AC belt when racing to prevent excess wear on compressor bearings. Recommend using this with stock accessory pulleys (optionally use a UD pulley for the AC to reduce the overdrive).

This pulley is designed to provide adequate damping for high horsepower engines making over 500HP.

Hope that helps clear things up a little!
