  • FS: Built N1 Block

Due to changes in circumstances, I am having to cancel this build.
Just got everything back from the machine shop.

    Parts list:

    -RB26 N1 block, 86.5mm bore
-r33 crank (original proper oil pump drive)
-Wiseco 86.5mm pistons w/rings. These are their new Armour glide pistons.
    -K1 technologies con rods
    -ACL rod bearings
    -ACL main bearings

All work including assembly was done by Cetus of Calgary. I brought them lots of coffee.

    Work List:

-Bore & Hone cylinders (they had the pistons prior to doing this)(piston to block clearances are what wiseco recommends plus a tiny bit more)
    -Resurface Block
    -Resurface Cylinder head
-Crack check block by magna flux
-Grind and polish crank shaft- for perfect bearing fit
-Balance full rotating assembly, from crank pulley to flywheel. Flywheel used is for an osgiken TS2CD clutch, which I will include, but you should get a rebuild kit for the clutch as the disks are pretty worn out (just under a grand, compared to about 2 grand for the clutch, so that saves you some money)
-Full assembly of the block. I did not touch any of this, which I know I shouldn't.

Pistons and con rods before they went in:

    The head:

Parts you will still need to get:

-timing belt (i can throw in a tomei if I get asking price)
    -new headstuds
-87mm headgasket....MLS will be perfect because both block and head have been resurfaced.
    -You oil pump of choice.

I have receipts for all parts and work done.

Asking price for block and head is $6500, no cores required (lol). will ship it to anywhere in canada, and you will have a fast turnaround time with getting a car back on the road with a forged bottom end.

Everything was done at Cetus in Calgary, the shop I work at uses them for all engine work for years now, and it was their head mechanist that did all the work for them. I did not rush them on getting it done, giving them more than 2 months with it (most of it waiting for parts of course).

They do mostly rebuilds there, but lots of race engines too, and hey had no problems with the rb26. This shorblock here is going to be an easy 500hp workhorse.

      What is that?

This is an assembled forged bottom end, ready to put a head on.

I'm pondering the idea of building a motor and selling my runner...this saves me some time but not so much money. I get deep discounts on parts.

Interested intrades for anything? Wheels, Tires, Standalones, Gauges, Big Brakes?

The bird was actually used for the final stage of polishing the crankshaft.

Top Japanese engine builders have been using budgies to polish crankshafts for a long time now, due to how fine their feathers are.

                  lol

Someone shoulda jumped on this a long time ago. If my motor wasn't built I woulda got this forsure. Insane deal. And for those who think a torque plate is necessary for these blocks its not, so even if it wasn't used it doesn't matter (v8 blocks thats a different story). Thats a funny question cause its probably the least important (more important question would of been piston-to-wall clearance). Machining/Building an engine (if done properly) is exteremely expensive, upwards of 1300$.

Yeah it was going downhill. While some of the discussion was informative, it really should be done elsewhere guys....so it had to go.

As for the motor, little disappointed my question was never answered by the seller.

                        GLWS!

sorry man, I am alot better at replying pm's.

I cold be looking to trade it for some kind of suv/truck, but as for car parts I already got everything I need for the skyline....and i'm not going to be cranking the boost anymore on it. I need to slow down with that.

No trucks or SUVs for trade here, so best of luck... I'll keep my eyes open.
