^^ i agree, after seeing it in person today, the car takes on a whole new aura...brings a tear to the eye lol
I sat there for, no word of a lie, about 30 minutes... just staring at it. Looking at a new spot on it after each revolution. My girlfriend was bored out of her wits, but I was like a child coming downstairs on Christmas morning.
If I could justify NOT buying a house and living the GTR... I would buy one tomorrow. But something tells me my financial adviser would chew me out if I pitched that idea to him. "Yeah hi... Tim? My idea of buying a house when the recession hits the market.. yeah that one... WELL funny thing happened today and that's going to have to be put on hold... ... no Tim I'm not in trouble with the Mafia... you see, I bought this car... .... ... Tim are you there?" *beep beep beep*
you guys are gonna love me. i have exclusive pics of the car that they had in display at the vip section behind the glass door. i will be posting them up soon once my photographer is done editing it.

I was talking to one of the salesmen about how I had the 2nd/3rd legal R32 GTR in Canada and the first one in Ontario... he turns out to be a GTR fan and let me go back there and we shoot the **** for about an hour.
The R35 is amazing in person. I spent an hour in the Nissan Gallery in Sakae while my wife sat bored on the stools. Then on our way home I stopped by there again for another thirty minutes, this time with my wife getting angry. When I went to the gallery in Ginza, my wife and her sister didn't even miss a step, they just said "Just call us when you are done, we are going to Vuitton."
If you say you don't think the R35 isn't at least a bit sexy, then you have not seen it in person.
If you compare it to a Tiberon, then you have definitely NOT seen it in person.

I can appreciate the car from an engineering perspective. It was formed in a wind tunnel, the driveline is stunning, etc etc.
But lets face facts, the NSX which was developed in the late 80's is by FAR a more attractive car. Simply put, all the technology in the world doesn't make an ugly duck a swan.
Agreed, but if you read the interviews with the designers you'll find there was a very real effort put into maintaining the "GTRness" of the new car. In short, they have always been sledgehammers: functional, obtuse, derive admiration through brute force. They are not meant to look elegant or sleek. The R35 does a good job of that IMHO. I am hoping the aftermarket will address a few of its goofy details which I don't like, namely the business of the front 'mouth'. A simple opening would be much nicer...of course it would expose the ugly rebar.
Justin, I was in town last week for a total of 4 hours just to pick up my parts and go. I missed the chance to hit the autoshow. Man, do I ever regret that! It would have been nice to slap on a GTRC sticker on the R35 and photograph it eh?
