yeah, at this point the r32 and 33s are enthusiast cars. they have been around and already made a name for them selves. these new gtrs are brand new $80,000 machines that are just insane (probally as insane as a r32 in '89). in time they may make a name for themselves too...

This skyline elitism is a little extreme, the R35 is a natural progression of cars, its pretty tough to compare a stock r32 to a stock r35. Theres many years of technology seperating them. If the GTR didnt have all the electronics and was as simple as the r32 people would bash it for being behind the times. I think its a great car and filled a perfect niche in the market. But going as far to say it doesnt live up to the skyline name? come on. The skyline isnt the holy grail, and who is in the position to decide that anyways. Look at the corvette, camaro, m3, m5, all have matured and still continue to be great cars. thats my 2 cents, make of it what you will.Jesse

If Nissan says it isn't a Skyline, then I would have to say it isn't a Skyline. It's not "not considered a Skyline" because the collective group of Skyline owners got together and decided if we would grace it with that name. It's a GT-R because the creators dubbed it thee. It could have a more modern day version of the RB drivetrain and represent it in any and every way, and if they called it anything but a Skyline... Well then it isn't a Skyline.
I name my dog Fred, but you argue with me that his name is really Frank. What's his name? It's fuxking Fred. End of story.DISCLAIMER: If any of the above comments in this post hurt your feelings you are likely taking me too seriously; I'm probably just busting your balls. If you're unsure, feel free to PM me and we can discuss the matter privately, as to not pull the thread OT.
