most of those buildings and the water way/ marina was designed by Canadains, There was a documentry on discovery channel about the Plams. And our oil money most likely goes to paying down our dept i am not sure they have a debt yet........

seems to me they are trying to have the biggest everything. But hey canadain still has the longest bridge in the world. i would like to see them beat that.

Well I can see how people misunderstand some facts about the UAE. The country is not called dubai, nor is dubai the country's capital.
The mistakes were.
1) You dont have to be a muslim to get a full time job there
2)20% of the residents are citizens only and even that is divides into full blooded, mixed, ect.
3) For the citizens gas, water, electricity(50%) are free
4) UAE nationals dont get a "free piece of land" or your wedding is not "free"
5) ONLY IF your poor you get some land and your first wedding paid for
6) A UAE national could get a 99 year loan with 0% interest
7) You have to pay to get sponsored if you want a work Visa
8} a ferrari doesent cost 40k lower<------trust me. Maybe a damaged one
