I had so many other friends named Ryan growing up that everyone just called me Tokar, then that moved to tokes, and it's easy enough to remember for forums.

Hmmmmm, first real pseudonym was Kaos, which I started using from a Jazz and Blues club here in town (might still be around, but they've moved venues a few times)

Then when I got turntables DJ Kaos was taken most places so I went with DJKaotica (and at the time a Google search turned up nothing).....then unfortunately that name started to become more popular.....

Was watching an anime or something where one of the fighters had a purple-blue aura around him which made me think of a black-light aura, and that got shortened to BlackAura.


Oddest response I've had to my name was when someone asked me if I had been abused as a child (nope).....turns out apparently people who have "black auras" were abused :/

Caithness is an old, old U.K. name. Mainly it's a county at the very North of Scotland with very deep history.

It's more commonly known as one of the characters in Shakespeare's Macbeth though.

It was made my middle name after my great grandfather Caithness Black.

When I was around 12 (13 years ago) and starting to use the internet, we had a 40 feet boat. It was baptised since it was ready to go at sea. It's name was "Le P'tit Caporal".

Somewhere in the process the word Dark got added into it (probably from playing CS lol.)

Easier to just keep the same one after all those years.

Chas is rare shorthand for Charles.. My name.

Duran is because a director I knew years ago insisted I looked like a member of the band 'duran duran'. As well as I had been playing a lot of Starcraft, and Duran was a mysterious and evil character. So I adopted it as an alias.

Thus 'ChasDuran' has become my user name across just about every site I frequent, and is unique enough that it is never unavailable when I sign up for something new.
