Just seen this on the news, I hope no one in this forum had anything to do with it, and if you do you should notify the police.
Police were probing a fatal incident of apparent street racing Monday night that killed two people and injured another on a Toronto highway.
Two people were ejected from a red Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo that lost control and smashed through a guardrail on the Don Valley Parkway around 8:30 p.m., said Toronto police.
Officers found a 20-year-old man suffering critical injuries at the side of the road and attempted to revive him, but were unsuccessful.
The 21-year-old driver was also found dead inside the car.
A 21-year-old woman, who was also a passenger, was found ejected from the car and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Looking over the scene, Toronto police Sgt. Tim Burrows said investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash due to the physical evidence.
“The twist to all of this is we have witnesses that remained at the scene that have advised us that this vehicle was seen…[in] a street race with another vehicle, possibly a white sports car,” he said.
“They were…[driving at a] high rate of speed, in and out of traffic, literally drafting each other prior to impact.”
The white car didn't remain at the scene.
Sgt. Burrows said all northbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway, just south of Eglinton, will be closed for most of the night while the scene is cleared.
There is no word yet on whether charges will be laid.
