  • How do you black out tail lights?

I'm thinking about blacking out my 4 red tail lights, who knows how to do it or where to get 'er done??
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

You can't BLACK them out, you can tint them... but not too much since it's illegal and pretty stupid anyway. If you can't be seen you can't be avoided. Sure it's fine during the day, but at night/in the rain/etc... I wouldn't want darkened taillights.

If anything I would find a way to get clear lenses, black out the housing, and use red bulbs.

There are sprays and tints you can apply to smoke lenses. Personally, I don't think a Skyline looks right without four red tail lights.

Here's an idea: individual LED's. A few folks on here have done it, looks good. Pretty sure Felix Yuen has them, and I think J.V.D Skyline has clears with LED's.

yeah, you can buy "VHT night-shades" this is what it's for.

personally i agree that a skyline doesn't look right without the 4 red tails,
        but to each his own..

Since you're gonna roll cage your car, just spray paint them black.

There is also the 3M headlight film which comes in a smoked tint, however it is pretty dark and the factory tail lights are not bright enough. What I have done is put a smaller tinted circle on the center of all my lights. It doesn't cover the entire light so its still quite visible and all people will see is four red rings...I did it because a guy told me they looked like corvette lights. I think he meant it as a compliment but it bothered me so I had to make it different.

the R34 taillight has something similar, but only about an inch in diameter. IIRC.

that's a pretty cool idea man!
