  • parts prices rant (just venting)

HOLY CRAP !! I can't believe the price of GTR parts ! $100:00 for a single bolt? $1000.00 for a timing gear? Are these parts made of unobtanium? As soon as my GTR is back together it's going up for sale ! Too many electronics anyways...gotta be a computer tech just to find out what's wrong with it. Thank you for the venting space and the opportunity !

    what did you expect?

you bought a 20 year old japanese supercar

not a 4 year old econo box

from what i know, its pretty hard to get 450hp out of a toyota yaris

It doesn't even have OBDII let alone 1/10 of the electronic functions a new car has.

      What bolt is $100? lol

ya you are talking to the wrong people.

Dealers and shops may charge you that much, but just ask around on the forum. There are a lot of people that will help you np. Make a list and i bet the sponsors could get stuff for you for way less.

And last thing, GTRs are expensive, but even after all the headache and money spend, you drive the car with a smile and don't care.

Dude, you need to shop somewhere else. I paid $200 for my GReddy gears and $60 for the timing belt to match the gears.

I'd have to go and try to find where they were again. The bolt was a special oilpan plug. must have a magnet or something in it.I'm looking for an alternator for less than $450:00

Even a sard magnetic plug is less than $70 no? Anyways, no one buys a GTR cause they're cheap. It's going to cost you money, even if you keep it stock, being 20 years old... Sell it now and buy a Cobalt SS, those are cheap and fast.
