i always get asked what the car meets are like in hong kong, so this time i went back i thought id snap a few pix and explain what goes on.
so first thing we meet sunday mornings from 6AM - 10AM depending on weather, why this time? this is the time where the police are changing from night shifts to day shifts and are all at the stations and off their patrols.
so depending on what club your with (ie. BMW club, Ferrari club, Lambo club, or if u havent already guessed i am in the HKSkylineClub) you meet at different locations, us for instance this morning we met at the shop Top Racing in Mong Kok at 7am.
now that everyone is here we all cruise to a spot called Luk Keng, which litterally translated is "Green Neck" it is called this because it is a sort of national park where nothing is allowed to be built and is supposed to be a haven for some rare bird that flies here every year, i think its some crane or what not. probably the most peaceful place in the city...
... with a perfectly paved winding 2 lane road that goes all the way to the end of the park and back.
as you guessed it is basically like gatineau park, you got cars ripping up and down this road for about 3 hrs non stop. the locals that live around here are super cool with it too, they are all fisherman famillies that have little breakfast shops on the side of the parking lots that the car owners go to eat. and they come watch us screw around the trail.
and as 9:30 Am rolls around the cars start to leave and at 10am, not more than 5 cars are in the parking lots across the park.
so here are some pics i snapped from on of the parking lots this morning, the turn out wasnt as big as i had hoped for on the account that it had rained the night before and the road was slippery. but none the less some pretty nice cars showed up
i dont have a camera so all the pics were taken with an iPhone.
a few of the cars lined up,
