nice picks though. I digg. Thanks man
1. GTR is my uncles, he rarely drives it (drives his stupid 911 instead) so when i go back he passes me the keys for the time im there.
2. car was stock when he first lent it to me 2 years ago. i put the a/m parts on (theres not much just carbon lip kit, hood and spoiler, ECU, and exhaust, and i had the wheels powder coated black.)
3. i know a lot of Mechanics in Hong Kong, and car dealers.
4. i am in Ottawa currently for school and people ask me what kind of cars people drive.
5. no, i was born in canada, but i lived in hong kong for 16 years...
income taxes in Hong Kong are one of the highest in the world... as for cars, taxes can go from 30% - 150% depending on what car you buy, and there aren't many cars that fall to the 30% mark. Thats what the red license plates you see are, those are "Test" plates or dealer plates if you will, lets you drive the car around without having to plate it, meaning you dont have to pay taxes. a few years ago when the first Koeniggsegg CCXR was delivered it was rumored that he was charged the full 150% of the car price. so if we do the math, 1.5 million dollar car add 150% tax which is 2,250,000. so 3.75million dollars for a car.Originally posted by raijin-xiii View Postyou know why there are so many millionaires in hong kong? because they don't get ****** in the ass with income tax like we do; they all pay between like 2-18%
that is how the Hong Kong government keeps private cars in check, and promotes public transportation. which is really cheap, a 2 hr cab ride cost me around $150HKD which is give or take 20 dollars canadian (150 / 7.3)
it's because Hong Kong is a free port, that is why a lot of businesses make it to Hong Kong, or ship to and out of Hong Kong instead of Shanghai.
this is a video shot from last summer.

im not on forum, but i met the owners of HKSC through a friend, and no i havent had the chance to go to their meets yetOriginally posted by C-unit View PostTrue but housing and cars are ALOT more expensive there; Let alone other benefit we have in canada. They are rich because lots of them are business man or work in the management levels of big enterprises, not because they have low income tax.
To the OP, what's your login name in HKSC? happen to goes to any of their meet?
if i do move back to hong kong i will though.
video of said windy road, not by me. Tai Mei Tuk is the name of the main street that you turn off of, and Dai Pai Dong means "the corner store" where we have breakfast.
