No favoritism or anything here, but as a fellow member I found JD74's posts more informative, genuine and less offensive than the other said member.

At the end of the day, whatever happens I don't care, I'm not the one stirring up ****. But your comment works both ways. I don't see these banned members going that far out of line. Things said on a public forum will always be controversial and offensive to someone. The piss off here being the members who actually have good things to contribute, albeit having a less than perfect attitude, are getting tossed. Go to a car meet, everyone gets along, everyone pokes fun at someone, if someone doesn't like something, they make their peace and get over it. EVERYONE needs the sand out their respective vag's... Admin, Mods, Users, Flamers, Lurkers, Regular Posters, and Posers.
This forum has gone to ****. Some users pushed some limits. Administrative staff's panties got in a bunch. My opinion, the admin staff is more to blame with its "if you can't say nothin nice, you WON'T say nothing at all." kindergarten class ********. Its too bad.

i think its th constant harrassing of a certain member. once it is directed at making one member feel like an idiot everytime he post i can see a ban. i dont read every thread made on this forum but i think 90% of it is all fun and jokes.

Well.. Take a look at other forums. I know you want to keep this place free of conflict. But we are adults, and as such will go farther than your G rated dreams. I have been first hand on other forums where users freely, and without reprimand, fire off racial slurs, dig deep into people personal lives and post it online to mock... This forum, even at its worst, is a Disney movie compared to most other forums. But going to far has taken away from what this forum had. Good guys, good knowledge, common interest. GTRC is teetering on **** show.

I prefer the way the mods have kept this forum as I come here for knowledge. I don't need someone making stupid insults just because they don't agrre with an opinion. That is what a discussion forum is about, discussing things, if everyone agreed, forums would be pretty useless. But if you can't back up you opinion without an insult, then the opinion obviously means nothing.

You know, I actually agree (To an extent - and this is coming from "other said member").

His posts were more infortmative then mine. His posts were more genuine, but he was also a little too genuine. He said what he thought, way before he planned it out in his head as to whether or not it was appropriate or not.

We all have our letdowns. Obviously I'm not going to know as much as him about some things, and him about other things compared to me.

Obviously everyone is different in terms of attitude as well.

At the end of the day though, you should be able to go to sleep at night not wondering if someone on the other side of a nation is out internet stalking you to attack you the next morning, and possibly ruin future contacts with possible friends, employers, etc.

JZ and CanadianGTR are right... it is only the internet. However the internet is the most far reaching place on this earth, and every little mistake you make here has a possibility of being behind you for the rest of your life.

Some people (not just me) don't need that, and that's why most people here should just plain have respect for other people. I need to grow up a bit too, it's just part of becoming a better person.

anyways as for mods they're only human too so not every call is going to be perfect and judged exactly the same as every other instance for example, one mod may change your picture, add a caption... the other your signature, another your message... (i will have my revenge one day)... but the key thing is not to take it so seriously... get banned? who cares play some MW2 finish off AC2 get ready to buy MAG for ps3 (are you serious 256 players online at once? thats gonna be insane) photoshop some new wheels for your ride go do some go karting... point is its not the end of the world and nothing to get revved up about imo...

JD74's ban was originally a temporary one, however it was decided to make it permanent due to his attitude toward his previous ban. He seemed to be proud of the fact that he was banned before and was almost bragging about it. Since a temporary ban is more of a "take a time out to think about what you've done and LEARN from it" thing... and since it was clear that he wasn't going to learn from it, he was banned permanently.

If a member contributes, that's great. If he's a great guy, awesome. I'm sure there are a lot of great guys who were contributing members of their community in jail too. We can't just allow intentional bashing and **** disturbing because the person contributes to the community. I think we are usually pretty lenient with the more "seasoned" members... but we can only turn a blind eye to so much; and when other members are affected, we have to step in.

Humanity will be restored in due time.. It's only natural for order to become chaos when people become comfortable with those around them, eventually they feel as if they're superior or their information is more valid or valued in the group.. Of course, this is incredibly immature only because the basis for this site was to help and provide for the community of Skyliners in Canada, bring us together as friends and what not. We're no "Caprice or Ford Ranger" group, comprising of 200,000 solid members, 90% of which never post.. Our numbers wont fluctuate, and with the more and more accidents each year, the bickering and put downs are only going to help the collapse of valued and much needed members. To put it in general terms; if Skym was bashed to the extent whereas he left the community, i'm sure a lot of you, like myself, would be incredibly upset. There are number of us out there who have a lot of useful knowledge, and instead of bickering and jumping down eachothers throats, lets use what we have to retain order and peace in the skyline community..

We're all turning into that 85 year old woman at the end of the street who, when on one of her daily walks, manages to make her way up your door step to threaten you and your family because of your incredibly obnoxious exhaust tone; even though you're only cruising by in 4th @ 40km/h and it's merely her hearing aid that's turned up way too high... Anyways, what i mean is.. We need to stop provoking and get along! If we get too far, i'm sure JZ or the other mods are eventually going to say enough is enough, and i know a lot of you guys have learned a great deal from this site, so we should praise them for their efforts and get along!!!

I personally don't think JD74 should be permanently banned, that's kind of ridiculous, he was a very contributing member information wise. Sure some people ran into issues with him, but I don't recall him ever seeking out these altercations.

That is exactly what I was saying. Those that insult usually cannot back up their opinion. And sometimes there are no right or wrong answers, just opinions.

My apologies for my misunderstanding. i think that jokes should only be directed at people you know as text does not convey the emotions, mannerisms and tones necessary to show it was a joke. As for opinions being misconstrued as an insult, I agree that sometimes people can be a little too sensitive, but the person who sends the message (gives the opinion) must think before he/she types as well. There are many ways to say things, some much more offensive than others.

I understand the kind of person Falcon is, because him and I are both alot alike.

We both say what we immediately think, and 95 percent of the time, it's not hurtful, or insensitive, it's just kind of cloudy... we haven't really edited it out in our minds before saying it.

I miss the guy, I hope he's back soon.
