  • See a skyline? Pff, im in my beater.

In my Skyline? I see no skylines I succeed at failing. Oh hey, im going to be driving for like 3 hours today? I'll take the line and probly see everyone out too. Nope. Oh hey i have to drive for 10 minutes? I'll take my truck. Oh look there's 10 skylines in every direction.

Am I the only one who succeeds at failing? Do you also succeed at failing? Am I the only one with such shitty luck? Tell me about your stories of epic failure.

PS: This thread regarding my failing ways comes about as a result of the second time I've come across one of the best gtr's in the lower mainland, Andrew from ztune's gtr. BOTH times he's directly behind me for a long distance, i've been driving my beater

    I just want to belong

Edit: His car sounds really, really nice when it's idling in an underpass

For those who dont see Skylines when they are driving theirs - you guys are not following MASS CONSCIOUSNESS - a phenomenon that most of humanity is generally inflicted by. Mass consciousness is when people start to behave in a similar fashion at almost the same time in reference to something. It is a known reality. As an example, if you are standing by the exit of a store, handing out flyers to anyone who comes out of that store, if the first person exiting refuses to take your flyer, the one following her/him would mroe than likely also refuse, and so on. But there is a higher probability that if the first one takes it, the one(s) following would also take it. People feed off of each other all the time on unconscious level. And generally, weather and world events seem to dictate a lot of this.

People who are successful at not following that herd simply seem to have evolved in a more unique direction.

Sorry to have put a serious tone to the thread but I had to.....

....and now back on the topic, I have never seen a Skyline on the road while I was driving mine, unless I was expressly going to meet a fellow owner.

Theres only one other skyline on this island so chances of me seeing an other one are slim.

So you're saying that the reason people see skylines while in skylines is because when you're driving a skyline, some dude sees it and goes "oh ****!" subconsciously and runs home and gets in his and tracks you down subconsciously and then you wave to each other like neither of you expected that **** to go down?

lol JS I understand the concept and have read about it myself, but I don't think it works very well in this case. Not saying you're wrong...
                  feel free to elaborate though.

Touche' my friend!! I owe you an explanation for my vague discourse.

Somehow, I FEEL, and I could be wrong, people who give in to mass consciousness do tend to behave similarly. It is not true however, that everyone would follow suit. Some rise above it and do not follow the norm. I have no logical proof of the existence of this phenomenon....just a repeat observation of its occurrence, which, if I were to use Occam's Razor, could be classified as the best possible explanation.

My point is that those who see Skylines while driving other cars could be operating at different frequencies of consciousness when they drive their Skylines (duh!!)....and perhaps they drive their beloved cars when others are not around. Compare this to those people who DO SEE other Skylines while they are driving theirs too. If you study them as a group, you may find interesting patterns that are common with those that they see.

                      true that.

When I think of his car I think of 118octane race gas.
He showed up one meet after the pinks filming..
its a different type of smell.
                      it smelled fierce.

hahah even though Im sure it makes sense, I cannot wrap my head around it to see a connection :P It reminds of the lines from Anchorman about "when in rome"

Aside from being at a skyline meet, I have only see one skyline on the road while i was driving mine. There are so many good ricer fly-by's that would have been a lot better with me in a skyline

You guys aren't looking hard enough...

I see them in my Skyline all the time... whenever I'm not watching my gauges making sure nothing is going wrong haha. I've caught up to owners and had conversations light to light etc. Mind you there's more where I live than some of you I would imagine.

I haven't seen any in my Skyline lately though... because I haven't driven it in months. Now I see them everywhere and I want my car out... Soon enough, soon enough...
