Yeah, at the end of the day, it's still a Porsche. If I can't afford to treat it the way it deserves to be treated, I'd rather have something else for now.

It will be hard for me to go down to something slower after driving the Vette for a solid 3-4 months. Drove the 7-series again and it felt so slow in comparison.

If I have to throw up a couple numbers that I'm looking for, they would have to be 0-60 in 6 seconds or less and 1/4 in 14.5 seconds or less. That's my ballpark.

      JDM GC8.

      /end thread.

you will not find a car that handles better, is more fun, etc etc, in that price range.

super easy to work on, tons of aftermarket support, awd, sounds ******* amaaaaazing.

I've considered Subarus, but I don't like the way they look. I'd love one during the winter, but I prefer more traditional sports car proportions.

What about a 90-94 Mazda 323 GTX or if you could find one a 323 GTR. Super light weight, AWD, 185-209 HP. It would be cheap on gas and insurance and you could dust ricers all day long in that thing. It would be a crazy sleeper.

The gc8 subaru's are very sexy with a chargespeed body kit, and a later version sti wing... Throw in the later style headlights, hood, and grille and your car will look sweet.

If you have 16k and want a car for summer only buy a JDM Supra TT, 16k will get you a pretty mint 6spd TT.

                I still say gc8 subaru....

$1500/yr insurance is too much? full coverage or liability only? dang, maybe i'm being ripped off. i'd say get the 300zx, or if youre willing to buy something that's worth the same as a vette, get a 350z or g35. you could get liability only insurance to keep it cheap.

Aren't you in the states? Or was it Ontario? $1500 is pretty bad here. That's with the 40% discount.

I'm seriously considering the Z32. 350Z and G35 are both more than what I'd like to spend right now. Might just downgrade to a smaller domestic..I know I'll miss the V8 rumble if I get a Z32.

Lots of boost > v8 IMO. Sure, v8 you have all that low end torque and grunt, but nothing sounds better than a 2jz slowly crawling up to boost...

I would still go mkiv supra, bpu it, and you will be bitchen man...

There are some TT Supras around for under 10k. N/A ones for a bit less. Thing is, if I buy a TT Supra and something breaks, I won't be in a great position to fix it. They're also a bit more than I want to spend, and won't save me much more money. Fuel mileage is probably just a tad bit better. To top it off, I'd almost certainly not be able to afford a LHD model.

300ZX gives me more options..even though that's no gas miser either.

To look dope, buy a GTSt. To look almost as dope, buy a jdm GC (late 90s) Impreza. Fairly in expensive (friend got a '94 WRX for near 6k) and they are very good on gas, not to mention for being a fly whip, they last quite a while.

I'm thinking about an S-chassis..but I don't know if i want anything with a turbo.

Anyway, found this little bugger: FS: Yellow JDM Nissan S13 180SX / 240sx right hand drive SR20DET

A little too "boy racer," but you can't argue with that price. I'm curious what kind of mileage it gets..

                                2jz is bulletproof as ****.

Anyway, that s13 is cheap and looks to be in good shape... Great price, would get great gas mileage.
