I have to show this to a couple people. They swear by them but obviously they are getting ripped. I found this quite funny because I refuse to buy an apple computer

Macs are mostly rip offs. The laptops aren't nearly as bad as the desktops which are absolutely ridiculous. I have a MacBook that was on sale and when I bought it, it was cheaper than a comparible Dell/asus...etc. I'm glad I bought it, they are excellent quality as I have dropped it countless times and it still works perfectly. There are even dents on it and the corner of my screen is slightly bent from how bad I take car of it and everything works haha. I knew someone who had his screen almost folded in half and when he unfolded it everything worked except that one for corner of the screen.

Too late. Bought an MacBook Pro earlier this year, not by choice but don't mind it. This is coming from an original PC user. The thing is built like a tank though, dropped it many times, and have only shown a few battle dents and scars. Runs much faster than my PC as well.

Same here. Have mine since october 2008. It froze 3 times... Droped it still works good. No virus.
Lets not forget alot of small detail that makes it better. Trackpad, aluminium casing, best battery, keys are awsome etc.
I dont mind paying a bit more for some peace of mind.
It's pretty funny seeing this on a gtr($$$$) forum.
If you want to go fast, you can mod a honda. It will do it. Do you want to go fast in a honda or in a gtr???

I wouldn't buy an Apple computer..but I did buy an iPhone and it kicks my BB in the ass. I was never for Apple products, but I bit the bullet and tried the iPhone.

I've never liked Apple. The only decent thing they've made IMO are the iPods. I finally caved in and bought an iTouch 3G 32gb in February, but a couple months ago it fell out of my pocket and on to the seat rails of my car. When I tried to pick it up the screen just touched the rail and spider cracked I'd bought the extended warranty and everything, but they wouldn't do anything for me because it was physical damage >

Now the 4G is out and it looks pretty sweet, but I'm not sure if I want to drop another $300 for a gadget right now.

I`m pretty impressed with the screen. Glass, not plastic so it doesn`t scratch easily. Doesn`t even need a screen protector. I`ve a friend who has dropped his 3GS many times over the past year and it still works as new. These things are pretty tough.

... the imacs are awesome machines,,,
... I suppose the way the stay away from the sights of virus's ,etc... is that they have less than a tehnth of the software availible compared to Windows...
...but if it's just email/surfing/photos/ is all you need I'd pic a mac...

^I've heard a lot about the signal strength issues and dropped calls, especially with AT&T in the US. How's it treating you?

One thing I've noticed is that my BB had much better reception.

Too broke for iPhone 4. I got a iPhone 3G. Unlocked and jailbroken. Loving it so far.

From what I understand, MAC pro's have quad core Xeon processors, or basically top of the line PC processor that you would buy for a PC. PC and MAC can be just as fast as each other if using same Xeon processor, mainboard, etc. Also be around the same cost all up when using Xeon processors (that's why MAC's cost alot, as they use some of the best parts available). I think MAC operating system is unix based, so security is way better. But Linux on similar spec PC could do a similar job.

One thing I've learnt when working with computers, the bonus of a MAC is everything used inside a MAC has been tested to work together, so no parts that can slow it down or cause compatibility errors. PC can be the same, but finding the correct combo of parts that don't cause compatibility errors or slow computer down is the tricky bit.

I bought my wife a mac 17" book pro thinking that even with the loaded one it wouldn't beat my desk top. **** was I wrong. I need one now it's that badasss lol. Oh wait, I bought an Iphone 4 from apple.com to 1 up her. Stupid plan didn't allow me to buy one unless I bought out right Now the car is pushed futher back. Guess I have a "beater" to play with in the mean time.
