Wrecked car and murdered wife are not even in the same universe... worst example I've ever heard.

major lol. Know what I would do (and what I suspect most would) if he hit my car? Be angry, say lots of swears, maybe enter a scrap if we got in each others faces (no charges in mutual scraps) ... Know what none of you on here or in the world would do? Go to jail for damage to your car. The way I'm hearing how people believe fights go down leads me to believe that few have actually been in one.
Lemme lay this out for those of you who believe that throwing the first punch would be satisfying
Police show faster than you can imagine, someone gets A) clubbed, tase'd, or both and everyone involved sits in a police car then jail cell for 24hrs
    No winners, only losers

Thats what everyone is saying. If it happened no one would actually kill anyone but a scrap would probably be the most likely outcome.

As for the wife comment, i used that to show how stupid "I would check to see if he was ok first" sounded.

And for the person calling everyone e-thugs....that guy in the truck wasn't even big, no where close to 290 lbs...and what makes you think everyone is 200 lbs average build?

Fair enough, I'd say average build is around 200...? I'm smaller... 5'10 ish and not overly jacked and I weigh 180 and I look "average" size, so I assume most at 6ft could be 200

            ******* looser!

he's lucky it wasn't my car, i wouldn't have been so nice as to call the police!
I drive a Truck and a GTR. Don't be such a Hater. Those guys who lift their trucks put just as much work into them as you would your car. It's the people driving them who are simply Idiots. As for driving around like Panzies... Would you rather them slipping around the road into the side of your car? I think we all know the Guy driving the Ram is an Idiot. He probably felt pretty dumb, and got what he deserved...
Dang! You got shocks, pegs... Lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?

speaking from personal experience i would have to say this truck driver got off easy...

a few years back a drunk guy in a truck tried to drive home, while pulling out of the spot he was parked in he completely swiped the side of a car... a friend of mine pulled the guy out of his truck through the window and beat on him until the guy was a bloody unconcious mess, when the cops arrived my friend went up to them and told them the whole situation, they took his info shook his hand, then woke up the drunk guy arrested him and that was that...

my friend was not the car owner or friends of the car owner, just a by stander who didnt hesitate to lay down some justice... he went running over before the rest of us even knew what was going on...
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

              Wanna go ride bikes...

In the end it's just a car. Worried about insurance payout not being enough? Get an appraisal and find an insurance company that will cover it fully.

Seriously think about it. An assault charge or a murder charge since some door nob hits your car? Go keyboard warrior.
That's why I'm glad the owner of the car did manage to restrain himself.

For the record I believe the best way for the issue to be dealt with is what happened in this case. The guy felt like an ass, is now charged with possession and I'm sure the owners of the V-Dub and Scooby have at least gotten a fair insurance claim and could probably get a considerable damages settlement.

I would not prefer to get in a scrap over someone hitting my car, but from experience I know I have a short fuse when it comes to stuff like that, and I doubt I would've been able to restrain myself if it was my car.

You missed the point. It's not about the money. It's the time and effort you put into the car that you don't get back. What it's worth to you and what it's worth to the appraiser/insurance company are two different things.

That's fine, it's only a car. I wouldn't feel to bad about it either. I also don't want anyone to feel sorry for me.

                        hmm...

let the police deal with the matters legally and try to get compensation from insurance (albeit PITA, but you can get your money back. Boo hoo your time, **** happens, why do we put our "pride and joy" on public roads if you fear this happening?)

                        or...

be all e-thug and beat the living shitt out of the guy, get charged with assault and forever be labelled as the "insecure douche".

Time and money spent on cars are write-offs anyways, who counts all the minutes and dollars? Insurance payout means you can start over, and guess what, chances are you'll end up building something better because you had to go through learning curves and know somethings you could have done better.
If you haven't actually spent the time and money for a build, don't assume what we would feel about the car. My car isn't crazy but I've put lots of hours, blood and sweat in to it. If it were to be written off by some idiot, I would be mad, but that would not be the end of my life. Life goes on, you rebuild, have a beer and tell about it to your children years later.

You have to understand where my frustrations come from.

As MattiasJacobs said, it's the driver and not the vehicle, so yes i was out of place hating on all truck drivers.

The frustrating part is almost every winnipeg driver, including summer time, drives at least 10 under the speed limit. The part that bugs me the most about trucks is they are clearly built to handle harsher elements (mud, snow, dirt etc.) so it bugs me when they choose to drive 20 below the speed limit in winter.

I mean if i can drive my dinky 3 cyl swift the speed limit in tons of snow, i think they should be able to keep up.

Im sorry for offending any truck drivers out there. IMO i don't see the need of owning a big truck unless you need it for hauling/ towing/ whatever else trucks are used for!

Come to BC, Tony. Everyone does at least 15 over the limit.
