I don't know how old you are falcon, but common, you were never young once? you never did anything you weren't supposed to? you've never sped in a car?
I should have left the part I edited out in. It basically said, that I've done my fair share of stupid things and learned from them. I also have smartened up and rarely speed at all anymore on the street. Even 5k over. I just cruise. Racing on a track really made driving fast on the street extremely boring and I realize how unsafe it is. That being said, I'm also sick of people saying they are sick of older people using that line in a way, that's an excuse itself. "Oh, you did it when you were younger and made mistakes.. so I am allowed too also." Actually, I'm trying to hopefully help someone open their eyes sooner than I did and hopefully save him/her a few tickets or possibly a bad accident. Going 140kph on a 60k zone is uncalled for. I didn't do **** like that when i was younger.

Yes, and if they have the proof you will get it for sure. The cop let you off easy. Eat the points and learn from your mistake. Or invest in a detector.

Might I also add, when I was younger we also didn't have the 40k over law = impound. Driving anywhere close to 40k over these days is just asking for it whether the limit seems low for that area or not. Doing 80k over like the OP posted is even more stupid.

I've done 120 over the limit.

Any of my actual exploits do not actually exist, I maintain the speed limit 100% of the time and I am kind, courteous driver.

Yeah, i might just pay it. $110 bucks isn't the worst thing, and being basically 1 step away from losing my license will force me to do the speed limit and drive careful, which will help me save gas

DO NOT PAY THE TICKET!!!! icbc will yank your license for a speeding ticket with an N. Dispute the ticket!!! you wont see the ticket for about a year or icbc will just throw it in the " oh that guy is smart forget the ticket trash bin". DO NOT PAYYY!!!

For sure, If you have your full license before the court date you'll be ok, as the points won't go against you until you "admit" your guilty by paying the ticket. You can skip the "trail" and take the default conviction, which may buy a month or to more for them to process. It'll cost a little more in the long run, but will save your license now.

I know every cops not corrupt...but their out there..

I agree with you Oakville that its not something you cry about but for **** like "unnecessary noise" because a cop assumings an
                exhaust is illegal is bs.

Thanks for the hint falcon. Having a place to get the information you need on how to go about fighting it is a great resource, I don't think we should be preventing that.

I see ya there man. The way I see it, as long as you have a cat and not driving like mad all the time, show the cop respect and 9 times out of 10 you won't get a ticket. The second you de-cat your car expect to be harassed more than you could possibly imagine. Cops will only complain about noise if youre always under load and in the high RPM range, other than that the exhausts are quiet.

I've got nothing against disputing a ticket that deserves to be disputed. But admitting guilt of going 90KPH over the limit then asking how to get out of it is silly.

Funny, my exhaust is close to 100db and sounds like a rocket ship (not riceboy honduh) and I never get hassled. Might be something to do with the fact that it's a Miata... lol So far the only ticket I've gotten in this car was a no front plate and that was at a honey pot road block on the coq. rest area. I had to take a **** something bad.

How will I lose my license for getting 3 points on my license? I thought it was 4 points for your N?

If I dispute it, the cop could show radar evidence I may have been going excessive over and then I would be charged with that, and all the 7 day thing as well right? And Plus Since I've had an accident, im pretty sure my Class 5 is delayed, so that wont work either. Although I will check.

EDIT: Yes I can take my class 5 on January 23, so as long as the court date is after then, which it should, I should be fine.
