  • What car would you buy?

    Hey everyone
Ive been searching for a new car for some time now. Wondering what you guys would suggest.

    Budget: $16k (not including taxes)
    Conditions:
    - Must be good/decent year round as I will be driving through this winter.
    - must hold value well so that when I re-sell in a years time I dont lose my shirt
    - must be somewhat cool as I dont want to drive an econobox
    - must be lhd

    Shoot!

STi is at the top of my list. I have found a few but the ones I am interested in are 4-7 hour drives from where I live.

I figured this budget would be close for an 04-05.

I'd probably agree on the STi idea. Mad fun in the winter AND summer

get the exhaust heat wraped or a shield made. cuse the exhaust is to close to the one head and the back cylinder likes to pop valves. especially likes to roast the ones on turboed cars.

I love the STI has much has the next one, but what about the audi S4 (2004 +). They sell in that range, but would probably have to go state side since we don't have many in Canada.

If you were seriously about getting one, I'm sure you could find a prestine one for your price.

A guy around my place just went state side to gets his, about 2 months ago. I'm pretty sure he payed just a little bit over your price range.

Think about it, it's got a sweet v-8.

i would say like these guys something sporty and awd. a4 or 6 w quattro or even a gcar 35 or 37. although even an 08 or 09 37 would be tight to impossible in decent shape for 16. sti is great too.

The things with Audis is that if something goes wrong, they aren't necessarily the cheapest to fix, compared to a very common japanese comparable vehicle (sti lol)

If you can bump up the budget I would get an RS6:
