Why is it in todays day and age no one is capable of talking to one another face to face? With txting so popular, and the use of IM's, it seems people have given up hope on the common conversation for the digital screen, or the phone. No body talks to their neighbours any more, and heaven forbid you talk to some one in the grocery store! Your either singled out as some creep trying to pick up chicks, or a weirdo.
This brings me to the one thing that ruined my birthday yesterday...
I had the pleasant surprise yesterday of answering my front door to a gentleman who worked for the city of Oak Bay, which had received a complaint about my cars in the driveway. It was promptly brought to my attention that I had 15 hours to either A) insure vehicles for road use, or B) remove them from my driveway. Thankfully the gentleman could see that I was in the middle of swapping an interior, and drivetrain over to my new rolling shell and felt bad for me. He agreed to give me 'till Monday at 8am to have them running, or off the property. Not a whole lot of time either way, but at least it's better than nothing.
Would it have been so hard to come talk to me about this first??! I did my best to meet all my neighbours when I moved in, and when I had a new years party, I even left a note in the mail box of every one in a 2 house radius saying my intentions, estimated guest list size, time the party would be over, and contact info incase there was a problem. Who ever this person is can clearly see that I'm not leaving body panels laying around, or other random parts just sitting in my driveway which would make the property look bad. Is it too much to ask that if my hobby is causing you grief, that you would come over to my house and we could calmly discuss a peaceful resolution to this?
Now I have the pleasure of towing my vehicles to a shop that can finish what I'm clearly not allowed to finish. Some times people just piss me off.
