  • Info on tyee imports

    hey guys/gals,

wondering if anyone delt with tyee imports or know if they are reliable. see a car they have "in transit" and might decide to buy if they can be trusted. no bashing, just a little insight on the place.

    thanks!

Why don't you get someone on this side of the country to get you something? Additional shipping from BC will be ~$1500.

If not more like $2500, Tyee is on Vancouver Island and shipping to Toronto is more like $1700. SeaRail is cheaper but, I wouldn't trust those pirates.

You would be better off buying a car direct from Japan and have the car put on a boatload of Mazdas (or whatever) being delivered to Halifax, you will save a ton of money.

I picked up my ride there. It doesn't seem like they do any preventive maintenance on the vehicles they bring in. The coolant in my car was almost like mud.
But on the positive side, when I got home I discovered a goose egg on the inside of my tire. I called them explained that I understood they didn't have to do anything about it "buyer beware", but they sent me to a local tire shop and comp'd me 2 brand new front tires + install.

So how would you exactly go about doing this? Cause I would rather do that lol. Only reason I'm looking at tyee is they have a er34 gtt for a reasonable price and "seems" in good shape.

If anyone knows how to get a sensible gtt to the Bedford basin in hali for a good price, please teeeeeelllllllll me!

90% of their cars are R grade garbage that you can buy at auction yourself for half the price.

i bought from them not bad dealing with them. the first r33 i bought apparently had a electrical fire the day it was supposed to be shipped. but they got me another one directly from a auction in japan. not a bad experience. they do ship with searail which scared the crap out of me after reading all the bad experiences that people had with them but i cant complain about mine. it wasnt damaged or have anything wrong with it after shipping. my auction sheet on my car was a 3.5.

Derek Weldon DOES NOT BUY R grade cars and resale them.
He is an exporter who will buy a car for you from auction or private market.
His fee is 100,000 yen or about $1080.00
That's it. The rest is all export and import fees.
Derek even warns against buying any auction cars with auction grades below 4.
The reason cars generally come from bc port is because it spends less time at sea.
And yes former " sea rail ( 2009 ) sucks" they even scratched my impuls front removing the bumper for transporting.
But it's now livingston freight and its 2013.

Shipping from new Westminster to Mississauga is $1500.00

I have no experience with brave auto. So I offer no opinion.

If your up to the stress and worry and wonder of importing buy in Japan.

If you have to seat I the driver seat and test drive it. Buy local. But prepare to look around
And do your research. But remember importing costs about 4000 .00
