    omg ...
im having my appraisal done tomorrow of friday..
certas direct (desjardins general insurance) is my current provider..
yes thet can be picky but they are not stuupid by far.
aftermarket performance upgrade.."performance" being the key word is not allow
As stock as possible is best.. but fixing broken parts with fuctional /cheaper replacement parts if theres no options.. due to harder to find expensive stock replacement part ( with in reason) is okay
ecu upgrades nope , turbo upgrades nope, high performance down pipes/test pipes nope but replacement exhaust with cat okay, brakes okay, any dot spec tires okay, no comp rims, no injectors upgrades, no fuel management system, now turbo timers/boost controllers are okay if you explain its to protect your car from damage and is programmed to stock settings, air filters flashy things ( ss brakes, ss clutch, ss fuel) all good, ss air pipes okay ... no fmic (has to be stock for appraisal), no intake mani/thottle body... unless stock was damaged and no other option was available and nothing else is done to your car then probably okay

now if you get yourself a factory tuned model not deemed a race car then your gravy like say an IMPUL lol sweet
so ill post my results of appraisal/insurance quote by monday

or simply, this is how it entered the country. they cant check how they were OEM brand new...technically that is how it is 'stock', since its first day landing in canada.

Yea it doesn't add horsepower. But yea you cant be sure. Tell them something like you had to change due to condition of old panels maybe, thought it would have been a good time to make it look nicer

Also if you use public transit as a DD (may have to provide proof) then they may insure your car as a pleasure vehicle even if you dont have a second car.

I was insured with statefarm along with my accord + house + life...so i dunno if that helped me getting insured for my gtr.

The only difference is with the accord they never took pics of the car, but when i got insurance with the gtr the broker came over and took pics lol.

Moved on though, gtr is with Lant.

This is 100% truue for Dejardins. When I was calling around, they seemed to be willing to insure but yes your car HAS TO BE STOCK! You have to jump through a lot of hoops and sign a lot of papers but its doable. I got denied because my car was modded (intake, exhaust, wheels....yea huge mods...) and the guy said if there is anything done to the car that increases HP by 1, you will be denied.
