Both brokers I dealt with had it as an option, but neither one seemed to "offer" it. It was explained to me at one that Facility gives the broker a lower % cut -- so many brokers don't seem to want to offer it unless you explicitly ask for it in my experience. I know mine is facility backed but through Royal Sun and Alliance.

When I was with Facility, I had gone through Amy So at North York Insurance (about 3 years ago now).

I hope this helps some of you.

    Good luck.

Thanks, but right now I am close to that, close to perfect record (1 speed ticket 12 over), close to no claims (unfortunately I truck wrote off my gtr 2 months ago), close over 40 (jokes I am only 33,but getting there, lol), close to have my own house, close to give up on my first child (my wife just said that is a good idea he is a pain in the ass anyway, lmao).
    Thanks

I got my facility quote and my God. It's like I've said before, I understand that you have to pay to play, and it's comes down to how bad you want it.

I guess I know what it feels like to be 18 again HAHA...

Just thought I would add that lant and haggerty won't insure a right hand drive vehicle after 1988. I called today because my insurance company of 4 years now decided they won't cover rhd anymore. It would seem that unless your grandfathered in your not getting insurance. I put a lot of time and money into my skyline like we all have, it's a shame this is happening

Honestly it's going to be facility insurance for you. I have a lead on another place, but I'll have to switch my home and auto insurance over in order to do so. All this planning and I'm not even importing till next year. This is NUTS!!! It really shouldn't be this hard.

Question, why didn't you sign up with them then?

It's Facility for you. Only option.

Facility insurance will still take it, I had issues with some brokers not offering it, but they pretty much have to from what I understand and feel free to point that out.

I'm currently waiting on an application with another insurance company, but I won't know the result for a bit since they tentatively said they may insure the car, but asked for extra documentation which I'm now working on getting. I'll post back here when that either fails or goes through.

Of course you could try and see if Hagerty will explain their reasoning for not taking you on and see if you can leverage that they told you before they would; worth a try if you're polite, but willing to be persistent.

Lant is just the broker. I n the end it comes down to Hagerty since they are the ones providing the insurance. If they say no, there isn't much Lant can do.

It looks like they are doing the same thing they did in Quebec. We haven't been able to insure RHDs through Hagerty for a while here in Qc, and they seem to be changing their policy across the board.
