i think OP might need to edit his first post.

bought my first R32 gtr few days ago.

today i called silver wheels and try to get insurance as the car i purchased was with silver wheels by the previous owner,

their response is: declining ALL RHD vehicles due to claims. Also mentioned if any existing RHD customer cancels their policy won't be able to get back in with them.

As of April 1 this year Lant/silver wheels was bought by a larger company with a different underwriter, this is why they no longer offer the rhd insurance they once did. it totally sucks.

Well, after reading this post I have an update regarding existing and new policies with lant silver wheels program. I have both of my gtr r32 with them and had just recently renewed my policy. I was concerned about how it'll effect me because of the new underwriters with lant. According to them, all existing policy will remain insured with them with the exception you don't miss your payments. If you miss your payment, they will not open your policy agajn. For all new policies, im sorry but they no long insure RHD's.

Crap, my dad wants to get insurance put back on the R32 before my wedding in July. He had been assured last fall that silver wheels was his best option since the car rarely leaves the garage anymore.
Since Silver Wheels isn't taking new RHD policies can you guys with new policies help us out? He's 60, and is just looking to insure the Skyline and not change all of his policies over. Nobody younger than 27 is going to ever be behind the wheel either.

The car was already scheduled for a fresh appraisal next week. If anybody can PM me names of even just the classic car insurance agencies we'd greatly appreciate it.

Well.....I gave the info on the company I found to 2 members so far.
1 was accepted, 1 was not.
Companies seem to tell people whatever they want.
The member who was accepted moved his other vehicle and house as well, so I think thats a major stipulation with them.

So if anyone here has another vehicle or 2, house, etc that they are willing to move....I think this company can help.
This is with my Pajero though.
I'm granfathered in with Lant/Haggerty on the GTR, with fingers crossed.....they have told me the same thing as everyone else though, you're good if you don't cancel the policy or miss payments....etc.

                          Rix:

Cannot seem to PM you. Likely because I am a Noob here.

                          Looking for Ontario insurance information.

Have a house and 3 LHD's that can move. 37yo, only wifey and I in the house. (No kids or other delinquents) Clean history except for 1 minor ticket. (no accidents)

I moved here 3+ years ago. Had minor issues insuring my RHD back then, but not major. Sold that unit and got another. Insurance co I was with would not insure any new RHD business. Finally found someone who would after much searching. Sold that unit and bought another. Insurance co said - no more RHD. Looked for quite a while. Gave up and sold the car before it even got to my door.

I would switch all my insurance and buy another RHD in a heartbeat if I could get reasonable rates. Car I bought and never saw was a Subaru Legacy GT-B wagon. Cheap to buy and repair, relatively decent on fuel (but certainly not great) AWD for the snowy roads we get here and often dont get plowed, and tons of room to carry all my junk. Was supposed to be my daily driver.

Anyhow, drop me a note with your insurance info if you can, it would be most appreciated.

                          Jeremy

Hi guys I 've got "kicked out" by Unifound Assurance Company because of RHD.
How do I find which companies have a filed rule against insuring Right Hand Drive cars?

I have over 20 years of driving, clean record, no other drivers and have daily for winter driving. Just want to drive ocassionally my rhd for 5 months a year.

Help me find insurance for my cars that'll not discriminate me, please!

They can all be found on http://www.myinsuranceshopper.ca/ i took 5 months of emailing every company on the list to find them, so its not an easy task but it can be done, theres about 2,000+ on there

                                Happy hunting.
Which of these companies give out classic car policies like Lant/Hagerty? I know Hagerty won't do RHD anymore.
