  • All this does is confirm that the insurance industry here is out of control. What the eff does where you buy a car have to do with insurance?? The only way this will be fixed is with lawyers. The FSCO has to be delt with and prevented from approving these filings with no basis except some douchebags opinion over there.
If they didn't approve the filings, we would get insured.

    • The guys that told me that had been previous customers of RD. I know Mike's not a fan of people talking about his business, and the last thing I want to do is stir stuff up, so I will leave that to current customers, like mindgame to chime in. Thanks man.

Anyways as Rick said, I just think this has all gotten a little silly. How do privatized provinces like Alberta not have this issue? Like I think I mentioned in my OP, I have friends in Calgary/Leth that have been insuring RHDs under their own name (wait, you can do that as a kid?!) with full coverage for $1500-2000 a year depending on record, and theyre under 20 years old.

That is silly....very silly, I don't understand how a single business can bypass a restriction laid out to an entire province of eligible drivers. Mind blowing

Ontario is a joke. Comparing to other provinces, there ISN'T any reasonable explanation I would believe.
It's not just RHD either, like you said. My mom-in-law just gave us her 02 Monte Carlo. Costing me 78/month, LIABILITY ONLY, till I sell it. Can't afford to keep and insure it, for what it is, and im not even in the GTA.
Kids starting out, basically have NO options, except maybe rich parents.

          • Lant insurance doesn't cover 4 door skylines, just got off the phone with Doreen... I guess if you have more than one vehicle get with state farm and then buy ur skyline... i pay 289 a month for it for 6 months for just liability no collision.

I think we all need to start our own insurance company that just insures rhd cars... we would make a killing

I am going to go down this list http://www.myinsuranceshopper.ca/Loc...ichmond%20hill and see if there is anyone out there...

we need to make a list if possible

            so far

State farm - will insure you if u have an existing policy
lant - will do RHD if older than 25 years, the drive must be 27 or older, and only you drive it. can not be for errands such as mall or shopping. any vehicle powered by Nitrous Oxide, Propane, Alcohol or Nitro Methane fuel systems
            Hagerty - Nope
            Allstate - Nope

Please ad or if we can make a sticky with a list of Insurance companies

            • word of advice, if you find one of the 4 who will still insure, keep it to yourself, i gave 1 out to a few people and within a week they got the doors slammed closed.
