Maybe we should sign a petition or something, those import laws are old as hell. With the economy doing down and GM near bankruptcy, a little r34 imports would boost the economy. Not sure, but we could write letters to the Minister of Transportation

Well, we would be saving Japan which is one of the country's hit hardest by the world recession, which in turn could ease the recession on us too. The world is a global marketplace, that's the reason why this recession begun in the first place, a weak financial system in one powerful country will cause a similar domino effect in others. Sorry for going so off topic .

I know there's a number of R34s in Montreal, and the majority are indeed illegal, but as mentioned earlier, bring it in as a kit car, and your set. But just ask farmer how much time he spent re-assembling the car from pieces.

Ok. I don't know if you're still getting anything out of this Jon, but this thread is done.
All the years I've been on this board this SAME topic has come up at least two dozen times, and each time it gets the same amount of coverage, and each time it ends the same way.
-Legal "loop holes" are another way of saying illegal, but someone missed it while writting up the ammendment
-The kit-car thing doesn't work. Been tried. Car was denied registry.
-R34s are, at face value, illegal to register and insure to be driven on public roads in Canada.
-Importing them from the states also doesn't work. Once again, been tried, didn't work.
-I would love to see some updated pics there Martin.... been a while
Either way if you still feel a need to be cyber-witty or beat this dead horse a little more, then please feel free to do a search, find one of the other handfull of posts about this same car or same topic, and see if it's not locked yet.
