    Photo Shoots:

    Here is the Crew

Just looking at these photos bring back the memory's.. Zulu's car was awesome.. there was a lot of Great cars around back then..

Now a days the meets are small. its hard to get anyone out.. cause if you can afford a $2000 car, well you cant afford gas for a Fun time cruise..

    anyways.. carry on children

Looks like some good times, nice shots.
I think we should cut Deviant some slack, I can understand how with the hype it could be disappointing, but I don't see why there has to be any hostility here. It's a beautiful GTR that clearly has meaning to some of the more senior members here, and I can give it respect for that alone.

How did the new owner blow it up?

Gtrjon hit the nail on the head ^
I don't see hostility I just don't see the hype surrounding the car. I didnt say that a cars status is determined solely on HP but I do know first hand that big HP cost money, lots of it. And in almost every huge HP GTR The owner has invested a lot of money in the over all package ,suspension, interior, exterior, audio ect ect. I havnt seen a 600bhp GTR with stock breaks and factory suspension ? It looks to be a clean GTR we all agree we aren't taking anything away from it, but if you read the project thread section you will find lots of cars on the same level or much higher that havnt achieved this status, maybe it's a local thing.

Also interested in how the new owner blew up the motor ?

Having met Zulu in person and seen his work, I respect the guy and his ethics.

It's REALLY COOL to name drop someone and create a thread out of the blue thinking you're some kind of a celebrity around here. You were just in his clique and IIRC, you didn't know jack **** about these cars nor had any respect for ppl outside your clique. Looks like the time off hasn't changed you much.

XS Engineering DOES NOT hand pick their 'legendary tuning' like you make it sound like. It's just a high-end shop that takes builds that won't fall apart on the dyno and owners that have the money to back their salary.

Dan, aka Zulu was a respectful, non-condescending and well-educated man who had a modest-build GTR with lots of usable power and extra left on reserves. You, however do not represent ANYTHING he was or has accomplished.

Just out of curiousity, who are you dissing here? Just wondering.

There are probably a few posters on this thread who could stand to get over themselves. Try to be constructive guys.

Quick test for anyone wondering the same thing...
If you think it might be you, you're probably right.

No big, but the tone has been a bit inhospitable.

I think the aura that surrounded Zulu's car was primarily in the tunning and the attention to detail, which really means he didn't use any knockoff parts and would spend the time and money to use quality parts, which at the time was not as common as it is nowish. I remember Dan talking about the car being on the dyno for 8+ hours it was power train wise a wicked car and I was suprised that he sold it so quickly after finishing the build. Dan was also a really nice guy to chat with and very knowledgeable at a time when GTR's were still fairly new and selling for an average price of 15-18K... so like 3 years ago.

There is something very appealing to a fair number of GTR owners about a very clean (stock body) GTR with a long smooth power band RB26 that appears stockish (Think Mines) but makes 500awhp which is a sweet spot for BNR32 and stock bottom end RB.
