  • dinner , dessert and then q's about r32gtr vs srt4 vs 350z

so my gf and i, gf's friend and her bf were having dessert after dinner and the discussion of cars comes up about the following cars.......

    r32gtr vs srt4 vs z33

    what do you guys think?

this girl's bf was saying he saw a youtube vid of separate races between all the cars and more.

he was saying the vid showed an srt4 spanked an r32 and other way around ......cuda been modded who knows

however i find it interesting and searched on this forum and find mixed views about all the races. standing start, rolling start lots of didferent factors and also lots of diff 1/4 and 0 -60 times for all 3 cars

does the bnr32 gtr beat the srt4?
does the bnr32 beat the z33?
mind you guys my question is of stock vehicles, once modded its a different game

i dont know much about the Z33, but the BNR32 has better quarter mile times, and is built for handling. stock for stock the BNR32 wins. although i do like srt4's. flame away.

srt-4 is a no match to a bnr32 stock for stock.

as for the z33 the gts-t is almost as fast because of the weight.

Stock for stock, the neon SRT-4 does 14.2 where the R32 could run a mid 13.

Which SRT4 you're taliking about? The Neon version or the Caliber? No matter how you slice them, they are both 4 cylinder turbo FWD cars. Falls in the same category of cars like the Mazdaspeed 3 and the Cobalt SS. I believe all of them achieve the 0-60mph at the mid 5 second range and high 13's to low 14's on the quarter as stock cars. An r32 gtr, despite its age, is still the quicker car.

You can win in an SRT-4, but you'll still be a d-bag in a domestic economy car.

From my personal experience with SRT-4 owners, I can't say they made a very good impression on me.

well all I have to say to this is that my friend has a stage 3 srt-4 with toys larger front mount, he lined up with a 350Z at the track and walked it. Stock on Stock may have been different.
When I lined up with him my car was stock made 301whp 288 and i beat him by 2 lengths from a 70km/hr roll and it was even worse off the line.
He also has a stock srt and the one that makes 230whp and when my car was in bad shape making 242whp the race was close I pulled one length.

Bottom line is a srt-4 with all mopar bolt ons will make 290-340whp on c16 and gets no traction . Locally I havent seen more. Stock gtr with minor mods makes 280-350
                        Thats my two cents

Funny...I feel the same way...The attitude some of these owners have is pretty ridiculous too. If I were to have a fast FWD car it would be a Mazda speed 3 or a VW GTI. Both have better platforms to start out with, both are better looking and both will last you a lot longer.

Im still not sold on the idea of having a performance car with a FWD layout. Sure they can be built for some power on the drag but, with torque steer, weight transfer, weight/brake distrubution and handling characteristic on the fwd, I dont see the money worth spending on one. With the price of todays new performance subcompact cars, you're looking to spend at least $30+ grand for them out of the showroom floor.
