STI Brembos are not the same as R33/R34 brembos!!! Don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

STI brembos have a much smaller piston diameter and will cause a lot of front bias.

If you planning on running your car on the track this is a very bad idea.

STi Rears actually bolt right on to the Stock R32 GTR/GTS/Z32 in the back. Only thing you gotta watch out is the GTR rotors are a little thinner than the STi Brembo rotors. Just make sure you have lots of meat on the rotors and pads. The front can be fitted with an adaptor and Z33 Brembo rotors. My friend has it done on his S14 with the same method.

I'm waiting for my EVO 8 rotors to finish this up. OEM STI lines work with no
problems and i have a custom brackets to fit the caliper.

So rear STI caliper and lines will bolt onto an R32 GTR no problem, but you need to get a bigger rotor(eg. R33 or R34) to fit? Any year of STI?

:EDIT: the GDB impreza WRX(w/ brembo) seems to use a 326X30 mm rotor while the R34 and Z33(w/brembos) seem to use a 322X22mm rotor on the rears.

            2005 to 2008 (hawkeye headlights)

since the calipers were designed for the R chassis, subaru uses a huge bracket to fit the calipers (i can snap a picture if you want to see, since thats what im actually installing on my car)

and the 1994 to 2004 GTRs (v-spec R32, R33, R34) all use the brembo caliper with a 300mm rear rotor instead of a 297mm rotor like on R32s and Z32s

2005 to 2008 WRX STI rear calpier and
                    R33 or R34 rotor
                    and obviously new pads

                    thats all you need?
im assuing the different brake lines and brackets will only be needed for the fronts?

2002 was the last year that GTRs came off the production line. The last "new" GTRs were the Z-Tune from 2003 to 2004 (which used 2002 V-Specs as a base).

revamping an old thread but basically from the research i have done i came to these conclusions. A.) sti brembos are cheaper and more readily avaliable than r33/34 sets. B.) to fit on s/r chassis you need 4 sti calipers, 4 evo 9 rotors, 4 sti brake lines (still not sure if oem r chassis works) and two conversion brackets for the front calipers to fit. so it seems pretty straight forward and looks like it might be able to be done for right around $1000. im going to give it a shot when i find a set decently priced

I'm running Evo 8 brembos on mine. I found the EVO callipers were way cheaper as most of them have clear coat issues so people took them in on warranty. You can pick up a pair of fronts for around 300 bucks.

What did it require to fit the evos?
