  • sti brembos on gtr

there's a guys selling a complete set of sti brembos with discs, pads and calipers for a good price.I know the rear will bolt on fine but what is needed to install the front caliper and would I be able to use the discs?
My car keeps on stealing my money .

    fronts won't fit for crap

discs are absolutely not the same dimensions,
and you would need a crazy adapter to fit the calipers, and custom brake lines

rears are same as R33 and R34 GTR, just a different color

Unless the equivalent (4pot?) correct set runs you much more, like $2500+? I'd say, if you don't mind the modding, get the cheaper STI set and save from the R34 set which is much more.

not even a slight chance, since the skylines use a drum like handbrake

but you can keep your stock 297mm rear rotors, it will work fine

If you're really bent on getting them, just get them. If you get the to work with whatever you do, make a write up. If not, make a write up so no one tries again.

Lol I like the way you think..funny man.
Well I found a thread on skyline aus and the guy bought a complete set for his bnr32.He was saying the rears bolt up fine but the r32 rotors arn't big enough , the sti pads wouldn't cover enough surface on the rotor so know he's looking for a bigger rotor so the pads can have full coverage. They were talking about ordering the later model r34 v spec rotors ...

For the front all i've found was the S chassis guy with them installed .They use custom adapters to fit them.

The STi front caliper shares the same dimensions as that of EVO 6-8 if I remember correctly. I had made brackets to fit the EVO calipers on our R32 GTR with EVO rotors. They worked out very well. I think the bracket will work on STi calipers too, as long as you use EVO rotors.

The total cost for EVO/STi front conversion comes to
                        Calipers: $300 to $400
                        Rotors: $100 to $350
                        Lines: $80
                        Pads: $40 to$140
                        Brackets: $100

BTW, the EVO/STi front calipers are a lot bigger than R33/34 in physical dimensions. So, I personally thinks, they are stiffer and stronger.

the R32/Z32 rear rotors are 297mm, the R33/R34 rear rotors are 300mm, not much bigger
you're losing only 1,5mm of contact surface..

I don't like the shaving you have to do with their brackets. You do not need to do that much shaving or not even any shaving with well designed brackets. But in that case, the bracket will cost a lot more to machine.
