btw, why do so many new people car what fast says? Worried the car isn't a gtr or the right color? You can tell the production year (kinda) by the vin.

I'm assuming they just want to confirm original color and year like you said. Original owners can say many things about their car that aren't true like year and colour. I have a buddy who bought a white GTR but from factory, the paint was gun metal grey. Not like it really matters though :P

I think the main reason is to know the actual production date / year of the car. I've seen to many skylines registered under the wrong year.
