replacing them is never a bad idea along with the half moon seals. However, you only need to replace them if they are torn or worn visibly or leaking. you can get the kit from any nissan dealership or ebay or any sponsor.
Also don't forget to have a look at the 20 bolt washers for the valve cover. They are washers with washers stuck onto them. They are quite pricey but I found out most of mine were so worn out and aged that it looked like donuts
So the verdict is that you can reuse the gasket, washers and half moon things? Unless they're torn or badly warn?
I'd like to do the same to my rb25
Also, has anyone ever tried to polish up the intake pipes that run across the cam covers? And or the intake manifold itself?
They're more textured.. I it possible to polish these up/sand them down so they look like the newly polished cam covers?

Permaseal sells a kit with halfmoons, gaskets, washers (I think better than factory washers, as I noticed the washers fits inbetween the screws, camcovermount hole to stop camcover moving around, but are easy to break when edge of washer hits camcover when turning screw, but can shave edge of washer a bit to clear camcover without breaking), oil filter cap gasket.
You should always replace the valve cover gaskets and half moon seals, or they will likely leak. Considering they are cheap, it's worth replacing now to save a lot of extra work later.
We always have lots of stock of these pieces, PM me if needed!

they dont always leak. i didnt replace mine and i have absolutely no leaks. i am with daryl for sure about changing the gaskets but unless the washers are in really bad shape then they are fine. i reused all 20 of mine and no problems. hell i ran without one for a week till i got a new one since i lost one and i had no leak there.
