  • What's Your brake setup?

Okay, so we all know that these cars are fast. They make amazing, smooth and reliable power, (Especially for the displacement of the engine and aspiration.) You always hear about peoples 1/4 mile times and crap your pants top speeds, but you never hear people bragging about how quickly they can put their yappy girlfriend through the windshield.

After doing a little basic research on the prices and combinations of pads, rotors, calipers, booster deletes and even line changes, I'm surprised you don't hear about it more often.

So what do you guys run for binders? What DID you run for binders? Likes? Dislikes? I really want to hear what you guys have to say.

I'm currently running the stock calipers with brembo rotors and hawk hps pads. SS lines, abs delete, GTST master cylinder. ATE super blue fluid.
    Stops relatively quick.
    However.

Before any serious track days I plan to swap front to the akebono 370z/g37s calipers, with the 14.25" akebono slotted rotors. And rears to the 350z brembo with matching rotors. Same hawk pads.

For around $1500 this can be accomplished.
    Amazing bang for buck.

Guess I could elaborate seeing as how that's the point of the thread lol.

        - 355mm slotted 6 pot brembos up front

        - 330mm slotted 4 pot brembos in the back.

        - Custom track and street pads from endless (if you have these brakes I can get you a part #)

        - SS lines all around

        - Brake cylinder stopper

If the car has traction, it stops. Not too touchy, but boy when you put that pedal down, it gets real lol.

Is this installed on a GTR or GTST? 'cause I thought that brembo didn't make rotors that fit r32 oem calipers...?

Noob question but what's the purpose of a brake cylinder stopper?

Reduces firewall flex and eliminates the movement of master brake cylinder under heavy braking.

Increases pedal feel and you don't have to mash it as hard when you really jam on it

I have a set of Rotora 6 piston/4piston that feels darn good when hammering the binders. I don't have abs but they work good if I keep off the lockup. They were cheaper than most at $4500 shipped but I'm thinking of selling them (2,100km use of them, all street) as I'd like to upgrade to a set of Alcon or stop tech (if I can't afford the alcon lol.

problem with 355mm is you have to get 18 and then bigger tires, and then having issues with rubbing.. its like a never-ending loop.

I have BCNR33 Brembos front and rear, with Endless Type R pads, Nismo stainless lines and Project Mu SCR slotted rotors.
This setup has done me very well over the years, even hauling the car down from 225+km/hr at Suzuka.
Would love to have a setup like GTR-Dad though

Heres a pic of mine, I had Nismo pads on it at that time, you can see the orange peeking out.
I painted the centre hubs black, as the Project Mu green stuck out a bit too much for me.
