  • Intermitent problem

My car goes in safety mode intermitenly what this could be ?
Maf ? Gaz pump ? I have diagnostic signal

Fuel pump is not read by the pcm. Major sensors like maf, tps ect, etc. will either cause the PCM to run on a limp home map or open loop map. Check to see if there are codes stored when the car is in this mode. Check vital sensors for operation

Air leak into MAF can make ECU hit boost cut earlier (clamp onto adaptor via intake hose clamp type of airfilter setup). Airleak behind MAF (loose intake hose clamp, crack in rubber piping) can make engine stutter, similar to coilpack miss.

If by safety mode you mean you hit the limp mode rev limiter which is set to 2-3000 rpm then your problem is likely MAF failure.

It's intermittent because the signal between the MAFs and the ECU gets cut off, probably due to vibrations or bump in the road.

Most common reason is the soldered connections inside the MAF need to be redone. Here's a good guide:

Hey, This guide will show you how to repair one of the most common problems with the rb26 (and other) afms. The problem most afms have is dry solder joints. This is where the solder joins on the plug it self dry up and crack. It can also be an intermittent fault, which makes it hard to diagnose t...

Like previously stated, check codes on the ECU first, however keep in mind with MAF failures, because they start intermittently, the ECU will not always throw a code.
