Yes it'll work but you have to ask yourself what made it break it in the first place? You've just bought it right?

why go with the N1 and not the Tomei? i understand its expensive but it SHOULD prevent this problem from happening again. Just saying

With Reimax gears the N1 oil pump would work up to 500hp (what they ran during 24 hour endurance racing with N1 crate engine).

If go with Tomei oil pump it moves more oil, so need a enlarged sump.

Left is budget N1 type of engine and right side is fully forged, similar to Lemans spec type of engine.

IMO, after going through built engines (by known shops) I recommended getting another good stock engine or buying an N1 long block. Drop in and forget, costs less too. Less war, less hassle, less "proffessional" hands in your sandwich. Had I bought an n1 engine from Nissan, I'd be $20k richer today and running 3 years ago RsrHey than waiting on maybe building #3

Did the pump fail? Screws in back of it come loose? or did the oil pump drive collar on the crank become dis-engaged from the pump?
Was there a crank collar used in last engine rebuild? pressed on or welded /setscrew? These are all known issues with the RB26.
The N1 pump is great for the price, when used with a crank collar.

I have a used tomei oil pump for sale, has been used for 2 weeks, selling to go drysump one day but having a baby sale for now.

As for engine, a tomei long block is somewhere in the $30k
I think an N1 longblock is in the $8k
A strong rebuild could run you $5-15k
And repairing what fail (with used stock parts) could be as cheap as $2k
                    No build thread.
