  • single maf help!!!

    currently i am running power fc with twin gt 2860r turbos. i am about to do a single swap to a pte 6266 and wanted to get an idea of what the best solution is for the twin maf.
    the options that are being considered is building a suction pipe for the twins, going single z32, or go ford lightning maf.

    the power goal is going to be 600ish at the wheels. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    in case it matters this is the current set up more or less
    +Wiseco .20+ bore pistons with skirt coating
    +Manley H-beam rods
    +ACL race bearings
    +ARP head studs and main studs
    +Cometic head gasket
    +Supertech valve guides and valve seals
    +Tomei Outlet pipe
    +Custom 3'' downpipe and test pipe
    +Greddy SP 3'' exhaust
    +Mishimoto radiator
    +Flexalite dual 12'' fan kit
    +Greddy Catch can
    +Greddy Intercooler with custom 3'' piping
    +Custom Fuel rail with Fragola fitting and black braided lines
    +Fuelab Regultor and fuel filter
    +Deatschwerks 300lph pump and Walbro 255lph pump
    +Deatchewerks 750cc injectors
    +AEM Meth kit

    i will be using a DOC racing manifold, tial 44mm wg, and 1000cc injectors

    again i need some help on the maf options

    I got a borg warner single running twin z32's mafs with pwr fc. One z32 wont be enough for 600whp

      try a ford lightning maf if you want only one maf

        IMO if you want that kind of power you're best off with a better ecu that isn't 25 year old technology and one that is map based. I finally got rid of the power fc and replaced it with a vipec. Couldn't be happier. Power fc is a great ecu for a stock car with bolt ons IMO but serious power should be matched with a ecu up to the task.

          ECU with MAP, IAT, etc sensors is usually best for big single turbo's.

          Ford Lightning MAF requires the voltage conversion table to suit. The Ford Lightning MAF is usually only used with Nistune (has the voltage conversion table) on RB engines in blow through configuration (mounted into intake piping inbetween intercooler, intake manifold). There's a aftermarket mounting plate that you weld onto intake piping (has to be the correct size intake piping as well).

            I agree about the ecu however the power fc was around when people had 1000hp and no badass'er ecus around years ago.

            I have a vipec v44 for sale. Used for 1 season, paid $1800, asking $1300, selling to upgrade to something more expensive and more supported for my race car (though the vipec was excellent! I need MOAR!)

              Contact vmp about there hpx maf...I had it running on power fc before I switched to nistune

                i would love to upgrade the ecu but i am not sure funds will be there to support it right away. i have a call in to my tuner to see what he says. i would rather go with a single maf and minimize cost. i will look into the hpx and seep how that goes.

                    I had mine just after the intercooler and I you have to put in scales then tune the afrs
