Ya, my initial tune to make it to Robyn was his. I ran it for most of the summer, it was good! A bit lean on my setup but good none the less. We saw about 250whp with it and a pretty smooth band, however he didn't touch the timing, which i dont blame. My issue is the poncams, i want them to be run as efficient as possible to attain the largest gains in the mid range, so i think robyn will be the man for the job.Check out the GTST Projects page and keep up to date with my build!

lol pat doesn't tune stock ecu and so prefers that people drop 2 grand into an aem ems setup? seems like he would have a lot more business if he learned / familiarized with tuning stock ecu's... lolOriginally posted by mitch32 View PostPat @ ACSP is awesome but I don't think he'll tune a OEM Nissan ECU, I've seen him tune Honda OEM ECU's but Nissan he tries to stick with AEM EMS. He tuned my friends Vipec ecu and COBB Access port on another guys. Almasi is the one for modifying MAF's and tuning a stock ECU. Marke on this board tunes with Nistune and his car runs good, he's a real stand up dude shot him a PM he'd be more then willing to tune your car I'm sure.

Your not the first person to say that, he's a stubborn guy with that but his cars all run amazing. He told me the reason he likes the AEM is because he can control boost, timing, timing based on boost, boost based on gear, boost based on speed, timing based on air temperature, boost based on air temperature, fueling based on boost/timing, fueling comp based on air temp, ignition phasing, and more. I think for him its a safety factor and his comfort knowing he can control more factors. AEM is 2grand if you run a plug and play, but you can run a universal or even a honda one just need to re-wire, you can get accord/civic EMS for 1000-1100$. I think he just doesn't like stock Nissan ECU, he tunes Honda ECU's (not sure if on chrome or hondata, but chrome and hondata are both really good). I'm sure he would tune it just I know he doesn't like the stock ecu.Originally posted by TW View Postlol pat doesn't tune stock ecu and so prefers that people drop 2 grand into an aem ems setup? seems like he would have a lot more business if he learned / familiarized with tuning stock ecu's... lol

well... I've personally always held my priorities in this order:
1) tune with robin at almasi dyno
or if thats not possible
2) get a nistune kit, and wideband, and just try my self
3) Apexi PFC L jetro and wideband and try my self
assuming 1 isn't available, thoughts on other 2 options?The SkyLife Community & News Website --> http://www.skylife4ever.com

It's done...I got the idea for this when somebody suggested to another forum member to write a book full of "how-to's" and stuff... I figured this would be free, online and easier for the world to access..
If anybody finds typo's or broken links please let me know Via PM... and if you have any suggestions on how to make it better, I would love to hear your input!

Safety and liability... You have records of all your work, if he fudges your motor, he will not have any excuse.. And if you do intend to touch timing on your own, you can't really risk to make drastic adjustments and really fine tune; plus your starting from scratch on a modified car, not a stock car. Stock values can be played with from ground 0, you're working from a whole other level which promotes you to guess. If you had a rough map for your car with mods done, then yea, id say go for it, but in either case it's difficult to justify when it could be left to someone knowledgable in that field. When he tunes your car, you can watch everything he does. You start to pick up on it rather quickly.Originally posted by archaeic_bloke View Postwell... I'm not sure what I'll do for tuning yet, I'll figure it out when the time comes, but I'm leaning towards robin, I like the idea of keeping the oem ecu and just socketing it.
Well, I got some new parts over the last few weeks, so it's time for a small update...
after doing some research I did a small write up on Sway-bars for the GTR, comparing aftermarket to OEM etc, and added it to the "how-to" guides on my site, here's a link to that: http://skyline-life3.blogspot.com/p/...ver-steer.html
Mostly I did that because I got one for the rear now too, CMR 30mm rear swaybar and pineapple link bushings, This should help fix the under-steer!
I also managed to pick up a great new steering wheel! thanks to someone on the forums!
Momo Chapmion, 352mm with suede on the top third.
With the launch of my website things are super busy, I'm not sure when I'll have time to install all this stuff, but when I do I'll post up the results!
About the website, It's going very well, really cool having people all around the world contribute, all about skyline stuff, everyday. If you haven't checked it out yet heres the link: www.skyline-life.blogspot.com
I'll be getting a private domain name soon enough and moving away from the blogspot thing, if anyone wants the feed, you can pick up the feed for it here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/NissanSkylineGtr-AWayOfLifeThe SkyLife Community & News Website --> http://www.skylife4ever.com
