  • Your IC piping blew off probably because of either or both of the following: lots of blowby and oil in the system which made the connection get slippery, and/or higher temperature which caused slightly increased boost/boost-creep. Turbo cars running more then stock boost typically blow couplers when the couplers arent upgraded. If you want to ensure your stuff doesn't pop get vanjen clamps, t-bolts, or make a turbo coupler brace. Vanjen clamps are amazing just too expensive for a street/weekend track car.

    • the coupler popped off because, i think, last year i used a tiny bit of grease on some of the couplers, grease doesn't dry nor move around, and the t-bolt clamp probly wasn't tightened enough

the clamp didn't come loose, its just the coupler slipped off,
anyways, its fixed and very solid

        • I can't remember where I saw this or who told me this, but before putting couplers it's a good idea to use
spray net on the pipes, yes the stuff girls puts in their hair. It's slippery when it's wet, and get's really sticky
          when it dry.

And that coupler will NEVER come off. It's not a good idea.

            • The spray net was suggested for holding bmx grips on the bars, tried it and ended up with grips in my hand and a mouth full of dirt, lol. Heat and humidity will turn it into grease.

I'd use pure alcohol. The reason why those sprays are damp then dry is that the alcohol content in the spray flash evaporates at room temperature. WD-40 also works the same because it's fuel based. Don't remember if WD leaves residue when dry though.

                  • Just tighten the clamp enough.

                    • I would imagine this would mess the coupler if you ever tried to take it off.

                      • If you have a good bead on the pipe and a good clamp I dont see why it would blow off , you're not running high boost.Unless it wasnt fitted right in the first place.
