  • My new Paint Job on 92 R32

Hey gtr enthusis very excited about my new paint job. Although the lighting is not doing the paint job any justice, however, it seems to be okay. 2 Years ago i purchased my first R32 and wanted one since i was a kid. I shopped for years in the GTA and was never able to find one that suited me. I came across one and fell in love with it. Kilometers were low, very clean interior, and all the paperwork for any mods done to it, and advan super racing rims (drool). Only mods on the car were intake and suspension, turbo timer, os giken twin plate, boost controller. I found a bit of shipping damage to the car but it was not going to drive me away from this thing. Once i got all my paperwork done and dealt with Numerous (and i mean NUMEROUS) of insurance brokers, i was able to finally have one to take me on for the RH drive. I drove the car home (Best drive ever!) and parked it on my driveway and drooled over it. Once the first summer was over, i stored the car away at my sisters heated garage and started with the interior work. Nothing more that cosmetics and stereo. I replace all the speakers and deck, replaced a few CF trims and cleaned up all of the wiring. Also put in some HID's and LED fogs. Near the end of the winter season, i met a fellow that has a body shop. He wanted to fix my car for me at a very very reasonable price. Although i love the metalic grey on the GTR, i wanted it to stand out a bit different. I wanted to paint the car a Matte Grey. The fellow was finally challenged, as he never tried painting a matte finish. He did his research and was willing to take on the challenged (i was more nervous than he was!) i bit my tongue and handed the car over to him to do his thing. Spring was around the corner and i wanted all of my body work to be done so i can get start on performance during the summer. Last week i finally got to see my car for the first time, and i tell you...I was in Love with this thing! here are some photos of my car.
(sorry i don't have the before shots of the car as i formatted my PC and lost it..virus!)

I will continue posting future updates as i move along with my ride. My list has just begun!

I was trying to avoid the showroom shine, but instead I went the opposite by painting it with a 90% matte clear coat combine with the stock base coat (kd20, I believe)

I've been waiting to see how an R32 looked in matte, and it looks great. Would love to see it in person some day.

Ya I wanted to research the paint job and see a matte finish before doing it to mine. But couldn't find anyone that had this done. I was pretty nervous when I decided to go with it. Luckily it paid off! Whew
