Continuing the story on the motor:
A deal was worked out with AutoDream so I didn't have to sell my soul. With a fresh engine and properly functioning ecu, the car ran delightfully. Except for the massive amounts of oil being burnt and the huge clouds behind my car. I was told by the mechanic that the car should stop doing it eventually with a bit of time.. Only it was getting worse. They inspected it and found a kink in my turbo oil return, which they said may have been the issue, but it turns out it was not. Cyl 3 is soaked in oil, and they don't suspect it to be valve seals or guides (seals were my original theory).
The car heads back to the shop again.
They suspected a cracked head... So the pulled the whole engine right out, and I guess I stumbled across it mid discussion. I showed up to talk to the mechanic about swapping my turbos out for rebuilt steel wheel turbos, but I was shooed away because the machinist and mechanics 'appeared' to be having a possibly heated discussion. Soon though, I was speaking with the mechanic and told that the cyl 3 piston would be pulled and inspected and told that the piston itself might not have and oil ring installed. I am so done with wondering what they do with that thing back there, that I just left it be, and let them handle it. Though the head might still be an issue, I was asked to pull the one of my other RB26dett to be inspected and possibly swapped over. Unfortunately, It has 2 bent valves and is in need of some tlc. I waiting for a reply from the shop, but until then, I will be rebuilding my spare head with quality components for when it is needed.
More updates soon, again I apologize for the huge delay between posts. I'll also be doing a hopefully helpful write up on how to do a basic port job on the RB head, and clean up the poor casting and machining defects that come from factory.
