  • Rebuild Pics and More

This has been a long time in the coming, but I just recently got high speed internet. So there are some of them.

One of these cranks in brand new. Guess which one?

The image below is the old pump drive(left) and New pump drive(right)
    Can you see the difference?

If you can zoom in on the pic below, you can see the Nismo logo on the oilpump on the right side of the crank(our left facing it) 8)

It went good. A good experience in all. I loved picking out the parts and it sucked paying for them. Crankshaft was a long time in arriving, but it gave me time to deside to upgrade more parts(not sure if thats good or not)

Big Thanks goes out to Burton and the rest of the crew at Progressive Motor Sports, they did a great job, Adam @ Feast whom supplied all the engine parts, Koju @ Takeda Ent. whom supplied the Clutch Kit, Sean Morris @ RBmotoring for all the advise and to all you die hard GTRC members whom I gleaned so much info off of.

Also to Daryl @ JDMspeedshop for his help in the on going project that is my GTR.

              Good job Marke:

The rebuild looks awesome and I like your consistency of using NISMO products. The flat black is also very slick too.

Did you do it all by yourself? (Sorry I didn't notice you have a thread about this whole build-up ops: ) How long did it take you?

              Anyway, superb job.
In the end the gov't will do as they please and if they do kill the 15 yr rule life will go on, and we will find other cars readily available to pour our hearts and wallets into. The Skyline is a great car, but its not the only one. It might be a case of easy come easy go.------------- JZ

What a great looking facility to have your pride and joy reworked at. Would this be progressive Moto?

Looking back, I remember waiting for months on end for that bloody crank to arrive, but definately was worth it.

                Many thanks Marke,

                Adam

My bad, I meant that I haven't yet found there is a post up from Marke in regarding to this matter. So there may be none.

Marke's GT-R is definitly one of the finer specimens of skyline around Rather than going with flashy parts etc, the whole car has a very clean, OEM, yet very performance oriented look to it, something I've always tried to obtain with any of my cars.

Wasn't this rebuild something you had done for a little while now? Everytime I get the pleasure of peeking into Marke's engine bay Im left speechless, you could eat off it!

This is the first thread I have started about my build. I don't really know how long the build time was, but my car was sitting for about 4 months. Most of this time was waiting for parts.

That was Progressives shop. Very nice setup they have. Nismo parts have such a good rep, but I do have a few Tomei parts as well.

Sexy build up!! I cant wait to pull my motor appart and build it. Did you end up going with an overbore? How much did the machine work cost you for that if so? How bout balancing the crank? Shotpiening the rods? Forgies? Just kind of curious how "in depth" you went with it. Or was it more or less a factory rebuild with new rings, bearings, r33 crank, oil pump, etc?

Either way, looks awesome. Has she fired up yet?
