with PROPER balancing of the crank...harmonics wouldnt be an issues..
but i am getting an ATI unit anyways because just like a painter painting a car, if he is having a shitty day, even the BEST Painted in the world can make mistakes....same reason apply to machining an engine.

there's everything u need to know about Rb30
pay close attention to what "sdyneykid" has to say...he's well known for his knowledge on RB30 in aus...he's building this RB30 for me.

Um.. hate to tell you Felix, but that thread said nothing about the harmonics issues of the RB30.

Go ahead and have a read of the thread I posted above, which talks about it.

If you're referring to "sydneykid" from SAU, I agree, he's very knowledgable from what I've read on that forum.

1. Block mounted oil squirters can be fitted, but it is a bustard of a job and not all RB30 blocks are suitable. For temperature control, ceramic coating the piston crowns and oil retention coating the piston skirts works very effectively and costs less.

2. Grossly overrated, same bore and stroke as a 2JZ, never hear about harmonics in them. Proper balancing goes a long way and the block strength added by the 4wd sump adaptor helps as well.

and after paying $1000 for air shipping from aus to cad
my engine is finally here !

more parts came in for the build
couple hundred bucks later i was able to get a tranny conversion kit.
as my 6spd grex trannys uses a 93 r32 housing. which means i have to converted to a 90 so i can use my exsisting clutch set up.

so after spending $1000 on a seibon cf trunk lid....which i thought they were suppost to be the best of the best for fitment.
$1000 just gone down the drain.

all the advice from everyone was right.....they fit like ass.
they fit like a $300 yahoo auction trunk lid.. no wait...a yahoo auction trunk lid actually close without rubbing on the headlight....a seibon one doesn't even close. the frp on the back is too thick.

the only good thing about the trunk lid is, it's actually thicker and heavier then a yahoo auction one. which i think might be able to support a gt wing without a problem.
