  • Donk's GTR updates, pics and parts.

Everyone knows that back in Oct, my car was taken for a 600km joyride and had the engine, turbos and clutch killed by an Alarm install Employee.
So it was time to fix the car. Here are the "before" pics and I will add progress pics as they are taken.

I didnt want to turn this car into a 5 year project and nickel and dime it together over a decade. So over the course of the last 2 months and the next 2 months, she will be completed. Hoping to have a magazine quality car when done. Need to solidify a deal on upgraded brakes though!

My car had damage on the LH side 1/4 panel and was hastely repaired in Japan. The Greddy / Trust bumper extentions, Nismo spats and open mouth grill will be color matched and the car resprayed with original Silver.

                      Beautiful car! Great build!

Conspicuously missing is a wideband O2 sensor. :P

Which LSD are your running? How about spring rates and antiroll bars?

My own car is nearly complete and is spookily similar. I'm currently selecting injectors and had decided 700 cc was a small as I wanted to go. I'm curious what your power target with the 600s might be.

                      Cheers,

Hey Dan thanks for the props,
Actually i do have a LC1 Innovate WBO2 but the car will be tuned on the dyno with their WB so im not too concerned about running one full time.

Honestly I do not know what LSD is in the rear. We were going to poke around and see if we could tell when i upgrade to a Greddy rear diff cover.

Spring rates are unkown to me and i am STILL trying to find out what HKS sends out with their Hypermax Coilover system... I am still kicking around upgrading to Nismo suspension pieces too. Never really considered upgrading the rollbars. Could be with just upgrading the bushings and end links that they stiffen up enough. Havent heard many guys bothering to replace the bars even in time attack cars...
I want to run about 550hp ATC just for reliability and longevity reasons. I could go to 720cc injectors and blast out 650hp all day long but then im up beyond the "safe" limit for my original 100,000km tranny. Im sure once i do frag the trans i will upgrade to a OSG crossmission as you cant beat the price and move up to the 720s.

Looks like a winner! PM me if there's a chance to meet up and have a look at her.

I wouldn't give up the real time A/F display easily. If the car starts acting up, you tell at a glance whether or not fueling is part of the issue. I admit to being a bit of an instrumentation/measurement freak (I'll probably datalog the first 500 km of engine break in... ) but knowledge is power. 8)

I've got solid bushings and an adjustable castor kit on my car and it's very solid and predictable. The big thing I want from the adjustable anti-roll bars is tuning steady state cornering balance.

                          Cheers,
                          Dan

The car is over at Subracing right now. Feel free to stop by there anytime and see it in a state of "a billion pieces".

It will be done by the end of March and tuned on their AWD dyno too. So im not "really" concerned about AF after that. I do have a fuel pressure gauge but i know its not the same thing but i do understand what your sayin.

The suspension is something i want to get into down the road. I have wanted the Nismo suspension since day one and im happy with the HKS Coil overs. I know i need some better rear subframe bushings and rear diff bushings too.
Cusco sells a swack of body re-enforcement pieces that i have been considering but its hard to buy for the suspension when you cant drive it and see the before and after effects from the changes.
