I think the RB30 would be a lot more difficult and costly to build than the V-cam kit. Just look at the stuff Felix has had to go through with his RB30 build. I think a 2.8 stroker and V-cam would be a much easier combination to put together while still getting some great torque and midrange out of the engine.

Since my build is all about drag and HP (while still being streetable), I went with the traditional 2.6 (0.5mm over) with a full counter crank good for 10,000RPM and a T88H-38GK. All my power will be up top.

There are just to many choices and power options for these cars. Makes my head hurt sometimes. In the end i guess it all just comes down to you personal preference and final goal. I just want a car thats going to scare the s#*t out me from the bottom to the top.. V-cam is going in... Thanks for all the insight yall..

I checked your vids and flix Rick. Nice setup in a sweet package!! Sounds great too..

To each their own in a good way. There are so many options like you say.

Thanks for the kind words about my R, but that was my old 700HP setup. Will have about 900 in the new setup. The engine is started; I am just waiting for the body/paint work to be completed and my R will be back ok the road in a few weeks! Can't wait!

Felix has gone through a lot of trouble, but he could have an RB30 built and running already. RIPS in NZ can build you an amazing motor (tomei oil pump, jun collar, carrillo rods, CP pistons, ATI super damper, modded oil galleries, etc) ready to bolt into your GTR for under 20 thousand. Shouldn't really take much modding to get into the car either, other than maybe not working with some strut tower braces and downpipes.

And intercooler piping, and hood clearance, etc. I am sure Felix can chime in with a whole list of more stuff that has to be fabbed.

You could still do a 2.8 stroker kit with V-Cam for cheaper than 20 G's...and everything else fits normal.

For that I'd jsut buy a Mines or Tomei crate engine

As for the Vcam, it' amazing from what I hear, but quite costly.
