those stupid axles are killing me, im about ready to have the car towed to a shop to get it done
first things first, i cannot remove the passenger side front wheel due to a snapped lug nut (been working at it for over an hour and its not coming out any time soon)
so as such, i cant get it off correct? since i need to sldie the hub in order to get the axel to slide off the stud?
as such...
you're doing it wrong.
undo the 6 bolts (in the 3 groups of 2) and the axle will pop apart.
you'll NEVER get it apart in the car that way. You'd have to take the whole stub shaft out of the diff. It's about a foot long.
Just undo the 6 bolts, it'll pop apart in no time. If there's grease in there just silde the cap back on and try not to get any on you.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag

hey terrh
yeah i figured that out after i posted
i read ty's page and decided to give those 6 shot
so i had a beer, cooled down and then 2 mins later, the passenger side axel was off - i feel incredibly stupid
now im on the driver side whic is a bit trickier - got the claiper off along with the 36mm hub bolt, but the rotor is pretty jammed on and doesnt wanna come off, so im taking a break
when it comes time to prying off the c-clip, where abouts shoould i pry at it precisely?
after that just got the tranny, motor mounts, and front shaft to tackle
and thanks for being so patient with me guys, you have no idea how appreciated it is
this is not only my first time with 4wd but with a gtr. im confident that if i was to do this again, it would be done in a fraction of the time now that i know a few tricks and what im looking at. reminds me of the first time i did a swap in 240sx when i was younger. took me forever but now i could do it pretty quickly.

what exactly all needs to come off for the right sdie axel?
ty's writeup page kinda loses focus here and alot of words are missing...
" Its held in by a C-Clip in the front diff. It seems to be held in by more , but thats it. Many times it will fight a big fight to get out. You need to take the wheel , axle nut , clear the outer end of the axle , then get the inside of the axle"
can anyone elaborate on this?

everythign would be going magically if it wasnt for the stupid f ucking rotor
been out there for 30 mins tapping it with a hammer between the studs and on the tophat, but it wont budge
am i overloooking soemthing? calipers off and the 36mm hub nut.

i thought i needed the hub off to have room to slide the axel back
i got the bolts off the axel clip just not, and it sli back with a pr bar on first try
just not far enough to be free from the diff
shoudl i just keep prying it back further? it doesnt feel like it will go back any more

slot the prybar inbetween two of the bolts and use the plate they fasten down as leverage to get a tiny bit of cranking power on the axel?
