I have complained since day 1, ever since I bought my car, that it gets SNAKEY WAY too fast on acceleration......and have blamed the Rear Diff from the beginning.
When I bought my car, it was listed as having an upgraded 2-way rear diff, but nothing other than that.
Either I have to adjust my driving style, or get a more friendly Rear Diff because today was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back.
To set the mood......in Calgary.
HOT TIRES (around 100km today), then Blackfoot trail North to Deerfoot South offramp. Enter corner at around 80-90k in 3rd, let off at about 4000 RPM in 3rd to negotiate corner (nice sweeping 90deg left).....and the ass end starts locking up around the corner and chirping, making the car studder and come sideways. Near FRESH, SMOOTH AS BABY'S ASS WARM PAVEMENT.
Is this Diff worn out ? or just locks up TOO QUICKLY in both accel and decel ?
I had to get back into the throttle to bring the car back in line, while trying hard not to run into my usual sideways-acel problems that I have had with this diff.
How can I tell if this thing is adjustable at all ? ...and what good is a Diff that locks up so quickly both ways ? Ex-Drift car perhaps ? (the car was quite STRIPPED when I bought it, as in there was ALOT more in it before I got it and have the electrical lines and dead ended Oil gauge lines etc to prove it, as well as unmatched-BALD rear tires).
With only 300HP at the wheels, this car feels about as stable some days as my old 375HP LT-1 SBC Powered S-10 truck.
Ideas ?
Thanks.
Allan
