RHD Japan does not purchase OS Giken direct from manufacturer. They must purchase it from some distribution center in Japan, which is why they have such poor support as they are 3rd party.

What can I say? I'm sorry you had a bad experience with a gray market OS Giken product, but if you still have it and need support or help or parts I will gladly assist you, and WILL provide warranty and good service for anything I sell.

The poor support was from OS Giken Japan.
It is OS Gikens responsibility for cutting off rhd japan's distributor then.

Post a price for a r4c and we can see why everyone will continue ordering elsewhere.

Nengun, RHD, I've heard bad things and good things.

Now you know who buys the parts that fail QAQC and wind up in the dumpster lol jj.

You get what you pay for I guess? I've never had a problem going with the certified/genuine supplier. There was a time where they sent me the wrong part, then quickly sent the right one without wanting the previous one back.

When I buy parts from guys like Daryl, Braden, Adam or Mike, I know that I'm getting the right part WITH the best quality. If a mistake is made, it is corrected. So what if I spend a bit more cash, I have peace of mind. I'm around to $35k into car parts without problems so it's no fluke. I may not be the best budget builder but I have something I don't worry about in the end.

As for the Drive shaft shop... I don't know what to think. I figured they had excellent QAQC and product support.

I think every company should cover their product or the product they sell. If RHD sold you some problematic junk, they should replace it or deal with it themselves.

For the moderators and other members... I am not trying to push a sale here as mcfly allready has the clutch, but this is a genuine example of how our real-world pricing compairs to gray market pricing. We are not a sponsor on this forum yet, but at mcfly's request. These prices are exactly what we and any other full OS Dealers are required to sell for not a "sale price" or "Special price"

          BRN32:

OS Giken R4C clutch is $2390.00US Including shipping
OS push type clutch release bearing is $95.00US
          Upgraded pivot for BNR32 $60.00US
Upgraded adjustable fork kit for BNR32 $140.00US

If its pull type then you need OS movement alteration kit $450US

          http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm/OS-Giken...e-Clutch-23058

They are asking $2434.63US including shipping including nothing but whats listed, no support, no warranty, and you HOPE its genuine OS Giken

If these 'JDM' Manufacturers really cared that much about WHO sold their product, they would post AUTHORIZED DEALERS on their website.

Wanna know what most have on their website ? THE DISTRIBUTION CENTERS that they blame for being the root of all evil.....but at the end of the day, when that 'Distro' pre-orders and stocks 1,000 of their products, the manufacturer will MORE TIMES THAN NOT, simply turn a blind eye and call it a day.

            This is a never-winning-always-loosing battle.

I for one will NEVER be forced into purchasing something when 'Warranty' fear tactics are used.

I go to whoever can provide the 'best package'....and if nobody can provide decent service, I will just shop based on price and price alone.

Then from now on, the forum should adopt a new policy such as this:

Each Forum Sponsor or Retailer will only supply this forum with products of which the public may be shown written or otherwise unequivocal proof that they (the Seller) are in fact a representative of said Manufacturer and are authorized to resell their product.

Every reseller should now work hard on providing their Manufacturer Credentials for public approval BEFORE completing another transaction on this forum.

This is all in an attempt to further protect the consumers, so that they do not find themselves dealing with a reseller who is not authorized to sell certain products.

              Sound fair ?

Please keep in mind as well, that if you are purchasing a product for a discounted or "too good to be true" price, you may be giving up all forms of warranty and ability to claim defects. Many manufacturers have pricing outlines that authorized retailers MUST adhere to or lose their right to sell that manufacturer's parts. I have seen some of this on GTRC with retailers selling parts too cheap, and if the manufacturers find out they will revoke that shop's right to sell the parts, and also possibly refuse warranty and service to the customers who bought parts from that shop.

As we have seen over and over on this forum, cheap does not mean good. Not sure when people are going to get it.
You do realize you supply us with "grey market" parts right?

Why did this thread die all of a sudden ?

Does this mean that our Forum Vendors busy getting all of their 'Manufacturer Approved' documentation together ?
