Ive been searching around the internet and forums trying to understand the difference between 1.5way LSD's and 2way LSD's, so far all the explanations i got were from people who didnt really know either just copying and pasting what they found, and now im kinda confused. if someone could explain the difference between 1.5 and 2 way LSD's that would make my life that much better thank you

A clutch type LSD provides resistance to relative rotation between left and right wheels proportional to torque applied to the drive shaft.
A 2 way LSD provides the same resistance under accelleration as under decelleration while a 1.5 way provides less under decelleration.
The logic is that trailing throttle oversteer, often considered undesirable on the street or circuit, is exacerbated by diff resistance under decelleration. Drifters use it as another way to get the tail out.

ahhh ok ic, so clutch type lsds are used to eliminate oversteer when you get off the throttle?
and the difference between a 2 way and a 1.5 way is just how much resistanceCheck out my RB30 build at

ok, i kinda get it, so say for a street/weekend trackday car a 1.5 or a 2 way would be easier to handle?Check out my RB30 build at
